Clady says if the Broncos aren’t offering him that kind of long-term deal wanted, he might not be there at the start of training camp.

Ryan Clady says he’d sign  ( Franchise ) tender “eventually” but “not right now”

“Not right now,” Clady said. “I’d try to get done something by this summer, and if not, eventually, yes, I will sign. But as of right now? No.”

Clady said he doesn’t necessarily need to be the highest-paid offensive tackle in the NFL, but he wants to be in the same neighborhood as the top-paid players at his position.

And if the Broncos aren’t offering him that kind of long-term deal, he might not be there at the start of training camp.

Good luck with that. The new CBA will make him stay in that exact same position next year if he misses the first 30 days of camp. You better believe he will sign the franchise tag. He has no leverage otherwise.

I must admit, i do not know all the new CBA rules

I must admit, i do not know all the new CBA rule

Here is the new rule:

Hold Outs We are all familiar with hold outs. The player doesn't feel that his contract adequately compensates him for the production he provides on the field, so he refuses to report to the team until the organization agrees to re-negotiate his deal. We've already discussed the new prohibition against renegotiation by rookies without enough service time. But the CBA also throws in another provision increasing the risk for players who want to hold out. Now, if a player fails to report to his team a minimum of 30 days before their first regular season game, the entire season will not count towards his service time. That means that players such as Vincent Jackson and Logan Mankins would no longer be able to hold out for 60% of a season, then report and still get a year towards free agency. If they aren't on the roster a month before game 1, they lose the whole season no matter when they report. This just recently went into effect for Chris Johnson of the Titans-he's holding out for a new deal and did not report 30 days before the first game, so he now loses the entire 2011 season for his service time.

Great. Exactly what Denver needs. How has no player noticed the trend? Holding out leads to poor production, and most of the time you don't get what you want.

Revis'd  & rehab

Clady was doing a good job with Cutler too, his pass protection skills were not showcased as much with Tebow, now it was showcased again with Peyton. Top 3 LT in the league, IMO. I am sure he will get paid eventually.

Broncos probably wont make the same mistake A.J.Smith made with Marcus McNeil. Or, in other words, I dont think Elway would be as much a jerk about paying Clady the contract he deserves like A.J.Smith did (no wonder players left the Chargers from Brees to Turner to LT to Sproles to VJax). Only time will tell.

Revis'd  & rehab    -  In 2010 the dude held out  recieved the big bucks & went down in I believe week 2 " hamstring " . My comment was & is that sometimes players who are worrying about a paycheck may not come into camp prepared & ready to play .
