A look at the roster for 2012 (WR/O-LINE)

WR: Wayne-Collie-Avery-Hilton-Brazill-Whalen Reggie has quietly become of the best in NFL history with year after year of consistent production (with another 1,000 season, he would rank in the top 15 all-time). I think Collie is the forgotten man, his production the year he had concusion issues was on a Pro bowl level, before the injury. Avery brings elite speed and unfilled expectations to the team and I think he will excell. Hilton and Brazill, also bring very good speed to the position. Whal

Mini Camp at LOS

Went to yesterdays mini camp at LOS yesterday and had a good time. This is the first mini camp/training camp I have been to. As a season ticket holder,, obviously anxious to get a look at the new and old players. It was nice to be able to walk around the stadium freeely without the crowd of people you have on game day. Took some random picks and posted them in the Gallery here under Colts mini camp. Thought Luck looked good after warming up as all the reports say. During initial warmups al

A look at the roster for 2012 (QB-RB-TE)

With all the off season programs in full swing and training camp around the corner, a preview of each position and where we stand: QB: Luck-Stanton-Harnish If Luck plays the way I expect he will, I think he will, when it's all said and done, be the best QB this league has ever seen, he has everything in takes to be that guy, with his makeup, along with his talent, would seem to indicate he will. I really don't expect a big learning curve, he should excel from day #1 Stanton is the best backup

Statistics.... who cares?

Flashback 1998 1st round draft pick Manning , 26 touchdowns, 28 interceptions. The average of a first round draft pick QB is 6 wins his first year. Manning's first year was 3 and 13. Seems like everyone has a stat, a prediction, and, an opinion. Indy fans are very defensive when it comes to numbers. Guess that includes me as well. Latest on line polling: 52% say Luck to be rookie of the year. It has also been said, " Don't break the rules". But, no one ever said " DON'T BREAK THE RECORDS"

2012 AFC Pre-Training Camp Preview

2012 AFC Pre-Training Camp Preview Training camp 2012 is almost here and NFL teams are now engaged in the 10 OTAs that they are allotted per the most recent CBA, so I figured it would be a good time to start my annual rankings. I will rank the teams in each division by several positional categories. While reading this, keep in mind that I am going by the whole sum of players at each position that will likely still be on the roster at the end of the preseason, not simply the projected starter(s),

Chad O Needs to Be a Team Player, Not a "Me" Player!

Chad OchoCinco should learn to be a "team player," not a "me" player as one thing is important. It is important to be a team player and a follower. Rather than somone who puts himself first. Above the interests and sadly, to the chargin of others. You win as a team, you lose a team. The way I look at things. Guy just needs to grow up. He ain't the first nor will he be the last unfortunately there are way too much of him.

1 And Done

After a less than stellar year, looks like Chad Johnson is looking for a new gig. Released from the arch rival Patriots, wonder if Ochocinco would be a good fit for the Horse shoe???... Who will be lining up to put up with this WR, the MLB, or, the NFL.. ...

Indy Cornerbacks wearing special uniform

Negative talk regarding the corner backs in Indy continues to flow from the mouths , and , the pens of the critics. Jerraud Powers is frankly sick of hearing it, he has two questions : Are you in the building? Are you working out with us? Can you see into our future? Something to prove, you bet. That CHIP we'll be wearing on our shoulder , you may not see it, but it's there... and we won't forget it.

With Current Pieces, Colts D Has Tools to Shine Early

Although the dreaded "R" word has been banned from Colts Head quarters, that hasn't stopped commentators and NFL personalities from tagging the team as a "rebuilding project." That being said, it hasn't taken the front office long to show Colts faithful that there definitely is a new regime in town.Grigs and company haven't wasted any time in diving into the free agent pool to bring in some pieces that should pay immediate dividends come gameday. Nice pieces I might add. They've even shown the w

Will Be On Vacation June 7th-13th!

In case you are thinking where is JPPT1974?! As that is where I will be. As I will be at the beach with my family. Really love the beach. Though I don't like camping as I find it boring. But camping at the beach with family is fun. Got a new camper!

Completely non-football related subject...

I tend to like to stay on the subject of football when I post a blog, but there is something that's eating at me and I have to get on my soap box and rant about it. Where has the respect for our veterans and current service people gone? I find it to be almost non-existant, and to be quite frank with you, it honks me off. How dare we not show them respect. How dare we not help support them when they return. How dare we not take the extra measures to enable them to have jobs. How dare we not

Andrew Luck Deal Close!

According to NFL.com, a deal with the Colts and Andrew Luck. Is expected and could be soon. As wonder how much they will give him. I would predict somewhere in the $35M-$40M range under the new CBA rules.

COLTS FANS, DISHONORABLE MENTION

DESPERATE, THAT'S THE FIRST WORD THAT COMES TO MIND IN THE OFFICE'S OF THE INDIANAPOLIS COLT'S. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 9 YEARS SEASON TICKET RENEWALS ARE BELOW 87%. A HOTSHOT OUTSIDE TICKET SALES AGENCY HAS BEEN HIRED TO TRY TO " GET THE FANS BACK IN COLT'S CAMP". FOR A TEAM THAT HAS HAD A WINNING RECORD FOR THE LAST 9 YEARS, HAS A NEW QUARTERBACK THAT RANKS IN THE TOP 5 JERSEY SALES IN THE ENTIRE NFL IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS, I AM VERY SURPRISED, AND DISSAPOINTED. INDIANA, NOT, JUST INDIANAPOLIS,

CTE, Player Toughness, & the Fate Of The NFL

In light of the legendary LB Junior Seau's suicide, the debate over numerous concussions & the side effects as a result of it later in life seems to have regained some fresh momentum again. Repeated trauma on the brain has led to a neurological diagnosis of CTE among the medical community. What exactly is this condition? CTE or Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE) is a progressive degenerative disease of the brain found in athletes (and others) with a history of repetitive brain trauma, i

The Fundamental Weakness Of Director George Lucas

Since the NFL season is low key right now & entrenched in rookie player minicamps around the league, I figured why not write a non-related football blog just for pure entertainment value alone. Recently, I just watched a film called "The People Vs. George Lucas" released in 2010 by Exhibit A Pictures. The central thesis of the film is this: Billionaire George Lucas who vehemently fought motion picture studios to get Star Wars made according to his initial vision in the late 1970's has now be

Blue suede horseshoe

Weather turned rather stormy here, as offseason reached its low. With no major news, event or whatever fans are turning inactive. Just 2 more weeks, and Andy Luck comes home to Indy, and Monster starts to roar at full volume. Some "football experts" here in Hungary thinks Satele isn't smart enough for a center. Pffff... Come on! He had a good season at Oakland, and seems to have all of a C's vit. That guy (who claims Satele not smart enough) is a GB fun, so I shouldn't expect too much. Expectat
