If I were the Colts GM, obviously I'd start be re-signing Reggie Wayne and Robert Mathis. Wayne is still an able-bodied receiver (even though considered "old" by some) and still has the tenacity you see from young players. His ability to run routes, shake defenders, and be a playmaker is amazing. I'd hate to see us lose him like we did Harrison. As for Mathis, well I just don't think you get as great of numbers from Dwight Freeney unless you have Mathis to compliment him. Mathis equalizes the pr
If I were the Colts GM... My first step is to relieve Head Coach Jim Caldwell of his coaching duties. The rebuilding process begins in the front office and the coaching staff. There are several candidates available to begin interviewing. Let's first eliminate two popular names that won't be considered for the Colts head coaching vacancy. Jim Tressel: He is too hot right now. He is coming off the scandal at Ohio State University and questions of his moral character are being raised. We don't

The first thing I would do is look at what works well on our team and what doesn't and then build or cut from there. Peyton is a great qb but as has been stated he can't win alone. Look at the players and support that are actively making a positive impact on the team overall and keep them and then build on from there. The Colts are a team and it takes a team of great players to get the championships. I believe working on a larger defensive line is a great place to start. We know that ours is not
If I were the Colts GM; i would view game tape from every single loss this season. As challenging as this season was; there are gems and jewels to be obtained from our mistakes. I believe that these tapes will need to be viewed and carefully evaluated even before our next step of draftingd "Luck". After that; we need to fine tune some of the things that worked well. Although the season was dismal as far as wins; there was several times in which we did execute on various plays. It's important t
Replacing Bill Polian, a legend in the NFL, an icon. Tough challenge, firstly because it's been "his" team for 14 years, and i won't be easy making it "your" team. First off; the HC dilemma: Word on Twitter(and everywhere else) is that the players worked their butts off for Caldwell. Problem is, his game management leaves much to desire. However, I would do my best convincing him to be reassigned to his former job as a QB-coach, as P-Money and Caldwell has a great relationship. I would look for
1. Take the time to see if Peyton is really going to be healthy. 2. Take a look at and interview the other QB's in the draft. Decisions don't need to be made until after the combine. 3. If Peyton is healthy, and we don't see much drop off from Luck to the other QB's trade down. 4. Ideally trade down with Washington, get some extra picks and grab RG3 in Washington's spot. 5. Re-sign Robert Mathis, Re-sign Reggie Wayne. 6. Draft Secondary and O-line help. 7. Probably time to let Joseph Addai go. D

What a truly bizarre season 2010 has been. Worst off season EVER (if that’s possible), nothing but CBA stuff Weird pre-season with the Colts winning one @ Bengals. Don’t see that too often. Playoff Dreams DASHED before the season even started (with Manning’s neck surgery) Bob Sanders wearing a Charger uniform. (PAINFUL) Musical Quarterbacks with none of them able to make anything happen until it was far too late for any playoff chances and fans (strangely) rooting for losses in order to gai

It's LeBron being LeBron. I have never been a fan of his for many reasons. He looks like a decent family man and takes great care of his kids + has never been in trouble with the law so I respect him for that - he is also a Great Basketball player, best today. Having said that his ego is outrageous, he left Cleveland in his prime because he couldn't win a Championship. Peyton Manning for example never thought about leaving Indy because he couldn't win for years against the Pats and Steelers in
Yes, that is a fair point some individuals just like to stir the pot & cause controversy & mayhem simply because their life has not turned out as well as they wish it had. Like it's somebody's else's fault that they don't make enough money or have a pretty girlfriend or any girlfriend for that matter.
Look, I'm not trying to minimize any fatality white, black, male, or female & I know that being a police officer is not an easy job. I get that. I just wanna get to an atmo
I am getting ready to get off work so I will have to respond to your Post tomorrow in more detail but all great points. Racism will probably never go away unfortunately as there are just people in this world that are ignorant and violent. I am not sure how anyone can solve some of the violence talking place. It just seems to get worse and worse with groups of people getting shot in night clubs, theaters, etc. for no reason. White cops aren't doing themselves any favors either by shooting unarmed
Thank you CBE for your response to my blog entry. I know how busy peoples daily lives are so I am grateful for feedback & different points of view on this subject matter.
Max Kellerman on ESPN 'First Take' has made the intriguing argument that in America anyway the Natl. Here's my short take on Colin and what is going on: I have no problem with people protesting about something they believe in or serious matters like racism, that is everyone's right to do so. Where I have the problem is dissing the American flag. It doesn't accomplish anything and it really gets many people to dislike you and question why you are doing that. To me it's dissing the Military and the USA when you don't acknowledge the flag. All you are doing is drawing negative attention to yoursel
I hope you're hanging in there brother as well as can be expected given such heart wrenching circumstances. Miss you man. I'm here if you need me. God bless, my friend.
YSGC,
Thank you for being brave enough to share such personal information about the loss of your beloved father. That took a tremendous amount of courage on your part.
Naturally, that void in your life will never be filled of course, but this line made me smile:
"He insisted we bury him in his Colts gear" Awesome!
When are people going to realize that the offensive line talent in last year's draft, outside of La'ell Collins, just wasn't that good? Sure we could've used a couple of picks on some mediocre o-line talent, and people would be right here, with their 20/20 hindsight, saying that they were terrible picks, and that Grigson should be fired.
Instead, we took a WR. People didn't like the pick, as the Colts allegedly were already "stacked at WR." Well, fast forward to this year: Johnson is
