Mesmerized by the "Horseshoe" since I was 7 years old, going on 43 now. I just cant seem to get it out of my system. For me it began watching a QB by the name of Jones, bigger than life to me as a kid, Bert to be more specific.. throw the perfect spiral pass only to have his career cut short with shoulder problems. Then this Elway guy refuses to play for my team and they laughed at us. To pour salt in the wound my team up and moves out of town..not just any move but like a thief in the night. So
Lower the Stars & Stripes to half mast, drag out the Scottish checkered kilt & bagpipes, & play "Tabs" on the silver military trumpet because we need to attend a mandatory funeral of last rites known as the NFL Probowl. The scenery in Hawaii may be lush, green, vibrant, tropical, & beautiful with a sweet, soothing evening breeze. The umbrella drinks by poolside are thirst quenching, colorful, & abundant. Athletes from every professional team & position are there on both o
This new surgery info is Moot at this point.. Peyton's already been cleared by his doctors, has been seen throwing well and has been working his but off to get healthy to play. This news at this point is just more gossip and media hype and is completey PASSE! Irsay is quickly blowing his image of being a hands off owner, letting his people make smart football decisions and is quickly becoming a Jerry Jones media freak, making poor decisions. His behavior and tweeting at this point are incredibly
Here is my last & final blog that I will transfer from Colts Direct. Again, the primary objective here is to expand audience access & encourage rational, peaceful debate. All viewpoints are welcome: We all know that football is a violent sport. We also know that when the playoffs roll around a solid defense is essential in order to "ring a [running back's] bell" & stop the run by any means necessary. Hitting & tackling become mandatory in order to win Championships at all levels
Initially, I posted this blog on Colts Direct. I transferred it here in order to encourage further debate by spreading access to this conversation to a much wider audience. A variety of diverse opinions is always welcomed here. Thank you. Sunday, February 5, 2012, saw the New York Giants defeat the New England Patriots 21-17. Confetti falls, the Lombardi Trophy is handed over to the best NFL franchise of the calendar year, & the Most Valuable Player [MVP] award is determined, handed out, &am
New to Forum and trying to figure out how to use this site. Anyone with helpful or useful information for a non techincal person would be appreciated. My first attempt at a blog post, I don't even know what happened. I thought I was posting and then nothing.. not sure where it went. I love the Colts and love to learn all sorts of Colts related info on Colts Direct, but since that will be closing, I'm trying to see if I can enjoy the same on this site. The recent Irsay comments about Peyton have
I will be on here as if you all want to be friends with me. As all of my blogs will be going from Colts Direct to Colts forum. Since everything will be on one page of this forum. To save time and energy. Will be on JPPT1974 in case you want to know. Hope you will join me here. Take care and Peace!
As our beloved Colts franchise undergoes a massive overhaul this year, from GM, to head coach, to staff, & finally roster additions & subtractions, I wonder if our team & the corresponding front office in INDY have finally grasped the importance of maintaining a quality back up quarterback yet. Starting QB's these days are prone to a number of injuries these days from concussions, to rib damage, to knee damage, to ankle damage, & ,as we all know, neck damage too just to name a fe
'Any plans for Valentine's Day for you all? As not much for me. As a single person. As I love being single. But that's another story. But hope you all have a great and a safe Valentine's if you do anything with your spouse or significant other.
For the last nine years Robert Mathis has been forcing fumbles and sacking quarterbacks and generally causing havoc on the rest of the NFL. He's done it by following College Football Hall of Famer Bowden Wyatt's advice, which goes like this: "Take the shortest route to the ball and arrive in a bad humor." Today, he is the topic in a debate to decide whether or not the Colts front office should keep him. My Mind and my Heart were all studied up and ready for the discussion, each thinking that he
Juliet, a 8 year old girl, sings a short song about her dog Robert & her goldfish speed metal style. So much for "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." This isn't simply your grandma's little angel into Barbie dolls & cupcakes. The heavy metal connoisseur inside of me makes me wonder what this girl would do with a Dave Mustaine Megadeth song HA! HA! This clip is cute & cool at the same time...I Love it!!!
http://youtu.be/E_QW63tmTuc I never get tired of this video. It makes me smile everytime I see it. Sibling rivalry what a wonderful thing!!! Competition to emerge victorious in any activity & the accompanying "bragging rights" never ever gets old either...No matter how old you really are. HA! HA!
In the immortal words of Queen's Freddie Mercury: Peyton & the Indianapolis Colts will literally "Rock You" with these outstanding play highlights...ENJOY Everyone!!! Tragically, Peyton Manning might be a distant memory in a few weeks... Gotta appreciate #18 while we still can. No matter how short-lived it now is...
I like the classic musical score on this video. It is very compelling. Also, the black & white backdrop is so vintage & timeless like old World War II news reels in the movie theatre. I wish it just featured #18 exclusively though. Still sweet & slick in its presentation though.
http://youtu.be/y5oMLwJtXnE I for one never doubted that Peyton would get to the BIG DANCE & win a "precious" Superbowl ring. More shiny hardware is in his future too in my estimation. Never trivialize his competitive juices on the field or his compulsive drive to win EVER!!!
http://youtu.be/XxI7_YemVlE Ray Lewis knows just how tremendous Peyton Manning's work ethic to be great is..."That doesn't just happen." God Bless "Sugar Ray" I LOVE YOU MAN!!! Hey Jim Irsay, are you listening to this wisdom that the GREAT RAY LEWIS IS LAYING AT YOUR FEET? I sincerely hope so....
http://youtu.be/ASDz3A84GFY There's only one Peyton Manning...AKA YODA OF NFL FIELD GENERALS PERIOD...END OF STORY. NFL Hall of Fame players of his caliber do not simply grow on trees. I hope GM Bill Polian is #18's presenter into the hallowed halls in Canton, Ohio.
http://youtu.be/7IW5hct73Ac Personally, I love this video because I was a heavy metal head banger in high school & this song & the accompanying highlights are intense, strong, & IN YOUR FACE... In the immortal words of soon to be Hall of Fame LB Ray Lewis: "Are there any dogs in the house?!!! A modern day pre-game rallying cry for laying the wood & dropping the defensive hammer of pain, sheer anarchy, & intimidation baby!!!! Let's get ready to RUMBLE!!!!!!!
http://youtu.be/FjPsnV4KfuI This is why I refer to Peyton as the YODA of NFL field generals ladies & gentlemen... Plus, Peyton has a great sense of humor too. Man, Peyton you are so AWESOME!!! I am in sheer AWE of your line of scrimmage mastery skills everytime you line up & that is no joke. That "next level" line is so FUNNY!!! Jeff Saturday had better cut back on those spicy tacos for the wellbeing & safety of Yoda.
http://youtu.be/mqpNsDRluvQ Here are a variety of Mastercard commercials featuring Peyton Manning that are quite funny. Peyton does a knack for dry sarcastic humor. Peyton is a great pitch man. He could sell ice to an Eskimo. My favorite advertisement on here is the 1 where Peyton talks about most people not having rock hard abs unless you're a professional athlete..."Just buy larger t-shirts to cover that big belly okay." I love that line. Its so funny because most men do get pot belly's after
http://youtu.be/V4EoetgsNI4 Great song by the band Lifehouse, tremendous highlights documenting #18's early NFL career, & who can forget how AMAZING WR Marvin Harrison really was... Plus, the visual quality of this video is crisp, clean, & non-blurry too. That's why I chose it.
It's LeBron being LeBron. I have never been a fan of his for many reasons. He looks like a decent family man and takes great care of his kids + has never been in trouble with the law so I respect him for that - he is also a Great Basketball player, best today. Having said that his ego is outrageous, he left Cleveland in his prime because he couldn't win a Championship. Peyton Manning for example never thought about leaving Indy because he couldn't win for years against the Pats and Steelers in
Yes, that is a fair point some individuals just like to stir the pot & cause controversy & mayhem simply because their life has not turned out as well as they wish it had. Like it's somebody's else's fault that they don't make enough money or have a pretty girlfriend or any girlfriend for that matter.
Look, I'm not trying to minimize any fatality white, black, male, or female & I know that being a police officer is not an easy job. I get that. I just wanna get to an atmo
I am getting ready to get off work so I will have to respond to your Post tomorrow in more detail but all great points. Racism will probably never go away unfortunately as there are just people in this world that are ignorant and violent. I am not sure how anyone can solve some of the violence talking place. It just seems to get worse and worse with groups of people getting shot in night clubs, theaters, etc. for no reason. White cops aren't doing themselves any favors either by shooting unarmed
Thank you CBE for your response to my blog entry. I know how busy peoples daily lives are so I am grateful for feedback & different points of view on this subject matter.
Max Kellerman on ESPN 'First Take' has made the intriguing argument that in America anyway the Natl. Anthem standing up during it is a mandatory gesture of compliance as opposed to a voluntary one where dissent is frowned upon & even called out publicly if you refuse to stand up while the Star Spangled Bann
Here's my short take on Colin and what is going on: I have no problem with people protesting about something they believe in or serious matters like racism, that is everyone's right to do so. Where I have the problem is dissing the American flag. It doesn't accomplish anything and it really gets many people to dislike you and question why you are doing that. To me it's dissing the Military and the USA when you don't acknowledge the flag. All you are doing is drawing negative attention to yoursel
I hope you're hanging in there brother as well as can be expected given such heart wrenching circumstances. Miss you man. I'm here if you need me. God bless, my friend.
YSGC,
Thank you for being brave enough to share such personal information about the loss of your beloved father. That took a tremendous amount of courage on your part.
Naturally, that void in your life will never be filled of course, but this line made me smile:
"He insisted we bury him in his Colts gear" Awesome!
When are people going to realize that the offensive line talent in last year's draft, outside of La'ell Collins, just wasn't that good? Sure we could've used a couple of picks on some mediocre o-line talent, and people would be right here, with their 20/20 hindsight, saying that they were terrible picks, and that Grigson should be fired.
Instead, we took a WR. People didn't like the pick, as the Colts allegedly were already "stacked at WR." Well, fast forward to this year: Johnson is
