I wonder why. Jay was not always the happiest of people but he was a very good QB. McDaniels seems to want to trade for players he knows (Cassel, Jimmy G) and work for people he knows (Dave Ziegler as GM). I would not be surprised if the assistants were people he worked with.

I got my years mixed up. Lol

McDaniel's can only work with QBs who are generally yes men and part of the Patriot Way system. That means they never question his judgement and don't think for themselves. If they aren't "One of his guys" then it's like mixing oil with water.

@VikingsFanInChennai  Jordan Hicks was hospitalized yesterday. He is ruled out for at least a week.

Jordan Hicks underwent a procedure on Sunday night after the win, and remained in the hospital on Monday.

This Yahoo writer has a valid point that it was never the Patriots way, it was mostly The Brady Way. Interesting read:

Pretty much like here, It was always the Peyton way. QB's like Brady and Peyton were the system. That is why both are top 3 QB's of all-time, along with Montana. I also think Mahomes could win without Reid. He knows how to win now. Put Bienemy in Reid's spot and KC would still be 7-2.

I wonder if Kraft regrets allowing Bill and Josh to force Tom out.

In 14 years coaching the Philadelphia Eagles, Reid won 58.3% of his regular-season games. In his first five years in Kansas City, he won 66.3%. Since Mahomes became the starter, he’s won 78%. So unlike Belichick — who hasn’t even had a winning record without Brady — Reid has had success without Mahomes.

THE PLAYOFFS is where Reid goes from a coach that constantly went to the playoffs to someone who went to AFCCGs and SBs, with Mahomes being the ultimate difference

Without him, Reid has a 1-4 record in conference championship games (and a 0-1 record in the Super Bowl) over 19 seasons. With Mahomes under center, though, Reid’s Chiefs have hosted five straight conference championships — winning three of them — and won two of three Super Bowls.

There is another aspect of these two situations that will be significantly different: it’s likely that Mahomes will remain in Kansas City after Reid retires — rather than the other way around — and unlike Belichick, Reid has a successful coaching tree. At least 15 of Reid’s former assistants have gone on to successful coaching careers. Two of them — John Harbaugh and Doug Pederson — have won NFL championships as head coaches. Belichick tree has crashed and burned mostly in comparison

Since 2020 without Brady, BB's record is 27-33 and no playoff wins. What this shows me is, that he can't win without a great QB. Dungy actually went to a NFC Championship Game in 1999 with the Bucs with Shaun King at QB and they almost beat the Rams who were loaded that season.

The Broncos are getting better. They play the Vikings next week. Should I be afraid? Russell Wilson, like Andrew Luck, always kills us.

I am a big fan of Patrick Surtain, Jr.

I don’t know what to make of Denver this season.

How do you give up 70 points but then beat the Chiefs…

Colts fans, how do you like your OL? I was looking at several publications, the Colts OL is in the top ten of every publication, top 5 in some.

The Vikings OL is up there too. One of them had the Vikings as #1. I laughed, but I saw that many publications had them rated high. PFF had Darrisaw as the #1 OT. This is all despite our running game being pretty bbad

In this one Vikings #1 and Colts #2:

This one has Colts at #7:

I wanted Darrisaw in the draft.
