Flag Football coming to the Olympics 2028

No NFL team will let their stars play I am sure but this is as close as we will probably get to football being an Olympic sport.  Would be kinda fun to build your “NFL Dream Team” for the Olympics.

It will be filled with slot WR like players like the Cooper Kupp/Julian Edelman types, IMO, with more short area quickness than anything else.

So, the best athletes of the game will probably not participate, and yet Olympics want the sport in its category?

 

Meanwhile, many sports around the world are still waiting to be included..

 

Looks like Olympics includes the games that would bring medals for the nations who already perform very well in the event.

So is cricket in the 2028 Olympics, a game played in England, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and gaining popularity in the US little by little.

Many - if not most - of the standard NFL contracts prohibit their players from engaging in any type of activity with the potential to cause injury.

 

Besides - WHY would an NFL player sign up for an amateur sport in the Olympics when his $$$$ could be on the line?

My first sentence says no team would let their stars participate.  I don’t think anyone seriously thinks NFL players will be playing in the Olympics.

For me, I would like to see every sport in the Olympics, Summer and Winter,

have amateur participants 

 

Sure, I like seeing our Men’s Basketball team win a gold colored metal(how much gold is in it?), but having a kid work hard to win is better than a pro that already has riches and fame.

 

Anyway, flag football, huh!
