Drafting an OG

There's a lot of talk about drafting Zeitler at 34 if he's there. There's also a lot of debate over the same topic. Who do you think the best values at OG are? Players that can come in and start right away without spending such a high pick? If any.

Only guard that I'd spend a pick on that might have a shot of hitting 34 is Cordy Glenn. Outside of him and DeCastro I don't see one worth it at 34.

If we're going to take Zeitler we could probably trade down and get him and a couple of picks. I think Zeitler at 34 is a bit of a reach.

I would take an OG if there was one available that was better than what is currently on the roster..............but, Grigson saying he is happy with what they have could be a smokescreen or a precursor? We will know in a couple days if that was meant to disguise his intentions or.............

Adam Gettis and Lucas Nix should be available late the fourth or early in the fifth.

One I've had my eye on is Ryan Miller from Colorado. He's got the physical part (6'6-6'7 320-325lbs) and is good in run blocking and in a pinch might be able to play left tackle. I think with some coaching his pass blocking can improve (I saw a play where he pretty much was bullied cause he played extremely high...skyscraper high) a lot.

Seems to be as high as the 4th round and as low as the 6th round.

I think Grigson mentioned that the he thought O line was the strongest part of this draft. With his background I think he would be able to fill some O line spots in later rounds or in UFA.

Jeff Allen, Illinois 6'5 315 Good pass blocker, decent run blocker

Mark Asper, Oregon 6'7 325 Good run blocker, decent pass blocker

I know we need one but I would be a lil upset of we use our 2nd pick on a G, especially with very good skilled position players there. We've done enough with our O-Line to where we don't need to use our 2nd or 3rd pIck on one unless we get more picks via some trade

I agree with that.... it appears that the 2nd tier of OGs such as Zeitler / Silatolu / Osemele become values from #40 thru #64... so I wouldn't mind one of those guys in that range whether it be thru a trade-down or with our #64 pick.

Hopefully, Grigson's own experience as an O-lineman shows itself well in whatever OGs we might draft, because the position has been bargain-shopped for far too long.... and without much success.
