DeShaun Watson's majority of his $46 million base salary was converted into a signing bonus thus creating $36 million in cap space. This is why guaranteed contracts, on the surface, aren't as scary as you think and that the Colts should make a play for Lamar Jackson.

 

4 year $180 million guaranteed and surrendering 2 first rounders, see if the Ravens will match it, and keep converting some of those every year into signing bonuses to create cap space. That is what Brett Veach does with Mahomes' contract too, it is like a cheat code.

Yes, Lindstrom got drafted very early in the first round IIRC, and I think Vikings had no chance. I liked and wanted McCoy, they could've drafted him. Anyway, OL is much better now, need a better guard and see what they do at OC.

He probably wants to get paid, he's watching teammates like Keenan  Allen & Mike Williams get extended, and he wants to be taken care of himself.
