He'll be 30 before the season starts and is coming off a 4 sack-season with injuries.  Had 12 sacks in 2017 but had 2 sacks in 2016 and 14.5 sacks in 2015.  Has been up and down and I do not think he will be worth the contract he would command.  Spotrac has him at $13.5 M/year.  I would much rather pursue Flowers.  If Flowers doesn't work out, which seems likely with his contract figure and Miami connection, go after either Za'Darrius Smith, Preston Smith, or Dante Fowler Jr.

Too inconsistent and can’t seem to stay healthy. He’ll be 30 before the season starts and we need someone younger than can actually stay on the field.

Ansah would be fine as a rotational type of player that we planned on for 1-2 seasons but at 13+ million a season, no. I would rather take that money and spend on someone with pass rush ability that’s younger and more long term, fulltime type guy, even if that’s a 17 million a year guy, at least we would have a young guy that has time to grow with the team. I’m not sure what a situational pass rush guy is worth but I’d think nowhere close to 13/yr.

The Ndamokung Suh of this year, IMO, that will sign a 1 yr. deal with a playoff contender.

Pass. As mentioned above, too old, too injury prone, too inconsistent. There's also always been rumors that he may actually be a couple years older than his listed age.
