My husband is a life long Red Sox fan. He says the collapse has begun and you may as well hand it to the Yankees because they have evil voodoo.

lmao

I love Red Sox fans though, always pessimistic but man they do look lousy lately and I never put trust in them.

Red Sox are fine, they have by far the best record in the league. My Cubs are on fire right now in the NL, I think the Cubs can win their 2nd WS in 3 years if they keep playing the way they have. Red Sox, Astros, and Yankees are all loaded with talent in the AL though. A's are even Very Good.

Yeah the Red Sox are still in it and all. It's a slump. But history isn't kind. lmao So.....

Good luck to the Cubs. I really am not hard into baseball but I just want everyone to be happy. Men and baseball can be crazy. lmao

Now I know where they’re coming from!!!!!

Baseball is rough on a person that is a diehard fan of it because it's 162 games. When one has a favorite team the streaks they go through are crazy at times. Cubs are a team that have had those alot. Win 5 in a row, lose 4 in a row, score 1 Run, score 9 Runs LOL.

That is what I mean about Baseball. One minute this is me on Theo when he signed Darvish and let Jake go :Gaah:. Now this is me after Hamels and Murphy got traded for :excited:

It is not just you. Hozer is now :headspin: over Murph. What a turnaround!

They look really good, right now IMO the Cubs and Cards are the 2 best teams in the NL IMO. The way it should be, let the rivalry continue into these Playoffs.

Your in a better position than we are , but love what the Red Birds are doing. Its been really fun to watch.

I think the Cards are playing over their head.   I'm afraid it won't last.   3 of their starting pitchers are rookies.  3 of their every day starters are rookies.   9 players on their team were playing in the minors 2 months ago.   I just can't see them staying this hot once teams have tape on them.

I sure hope I am wrong though.   They have made this season (the last month) pretty fun to watch.   The wild card race is going to be a good one.

Young I agree but will take young with talent . Molina has handled them well. Mike Maddux has done really well and a calming influence when he visits the mound . The ERA of these pitchers tell me all I need to know. I knew the talent was there in Memphis just should've went to the well sooner. I guarantee other teams have plenty of tape on them . Most of these series were won on the road , I think that speaks pretty loud.

This is a good example of what young, hungry players can do. They bring energy and have more speed than aging players. Yes, it is a lot of fun.  It is exciting knowing you have all these young players that will be with your team for many years.

Great points the Defense has improved dramatically as well.

I was very happy that the Cardinals were not "buyers"  at the trade deadline.   They were sellers if anything with the trade off of Pham.

I also think the 1st base agrees with Carpenter.   He hits better when he plays 1st.   The addition of Adams worries my for that reason.   Adams can really only play 1st.

Carpenter had a great day yesterday.  4/5 with 4 doubles.

Saw a lot of good things tonight....base hits, great defense, etc.

Thought Lester was gonna lay an egg there at first, but boy did he wake up and redeem himself, wow!!! The pick off? And the clutch hitting? The line drive snag for the out? Nice!

Side note...what’s up with Almora, he seems to be in quite the slump. I noticed while at the game couple weeks ago, he has a strange batting stance, kind of duck legged....IDK.

David Kaplan said in the Postgame when Bryant returns, the lineup against Lefties will be:

Bryant will play LF

Heyward CF

Zobrist RF

Bote 3b

Baez SS

Murphy 2b

Rizzo 1b

Contreras C

-Schwarber = odd man out

-Against Righties, Schwarber will play LF and Bryant 3b, Bote would be the odd man out here.

Too bad Lester did not get the win. I turned the TV off after the inning that Cizek pitched. I think the game was tied 4-4. Congrats on the win.

Maybe during this series the Mets can grab Almora and you guys take Matz or some other player besides the top pitchers. Maybe swap Lugo for Almora since you're not using Almora. :D

1-0 Mets bottom of the 6th...Hamels/deGrom solid efforts so far, Hamels is out, deGrom still in. Mets lone score came on a base hit RBI, due to shortstop(Baez) playing too deep in the grass, bad decision that burned him. Not a fan of the home plate ump either, made some bad calls on both sides.

It's 1-1 now in the Top of the 8th. Anyone's game, Hamels did his part again that is for sure. deGrom is the best Pitcher in Baseball right now.

deGrom is tiring. Why is Baez bunting?

He shouldn't be, who knows LOL. I just seen the Cubs hit into a Double Play to end the 8th. To the 9th now still 1-1. I am not watching it but following it on MLB.com.

deGrom will get another no decision. He will pass Gooden for the Mets pitcher with the most consecutive games allowing 3 or fewer runs. I think it is 24 consecutive starts.

At least he won't get a loss, nor will Hamels. Neither deserve one.

The guy has a 1.68 ERA and has only 8 wins. It is ridiculous.

That is incorrect. deGrom is now tied with Gooden for most consecutive starts giving up 3 or fewer runs (24 games). He has had a great year.
