Overall the 53 man roster is close to what we expected. There were a few surprises, such as Nate Irving not making the 53.

Stephen Morris deserved to make this team. Hopefully he sticks on the 53 man roster as the next few days transpire.

I believe Josh Ferguson made the team due to his receiving abilities. Some thought Trey Williams outperformed him.

Bray and Rogers will likely see the field sparingly, but contribute early in the return game.

Swoope and Coffman both made the team. Hopefully we can keep them both on the 53 man roster.

It will be interesting to see who ends up holding down the LG position while Mewhort is out. I think we can expect Harrison to start at LG on opening day, but Haeg is an interesting prospect, and I don't believe we will keep him off the field for too long.

Some injuries could make this interesting on opening day. We could see Ridgeway, Parry, and Kerr start against the Lions.

DT: Zach Kerr, Hassan Ridgeway, T.Y. McGill

 

Although we are very strong at SAM and MIKE, we are old at RUSH, and relatively unknown at WILL. Maybe Mathis and Cole can find another youthful run. We need to have someone emerge at WILL. Congrats to Curt and Edwin for making the initial 53 man roster.

Our best defensive back is out until October, and there are some real question marks surrounding almost everyone else; Cromartie (age), Adams (age), Robinson (health), Butler (drop off), Brown (health), Green (lacking experience), Geathers (health), and Williams (lacking experience).
