The Washington Post's Mike Jones reports impending free agent OLB Junior Galette is looking to sign a one-year, "prove-it" deal.

Galette signed with the Redskins on a veteran-minimum contract after being released by the Saints last July, but he ruptured his Achilles' tendon late in the preseason and never played a snap. Galette and GM Scot McCloughan have both expressed interest in a reunion, but Galette is reportedly looking to get paid $7-$9 million on a one-year deal. That number could be difficult for Washington to match with Kirk Cousins likely headed for the franchise tag. Signing a one-year deal could prove a good move for Galette. If he stays out of trouble off the field and proves healthy and effective on it, he could cash in next offseason. Feb 16 - 10:11 AM

 

Signing Galette could be the biggest steal of the offseason. He could make a Brent Grimes, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie type impact when they signed their 1 year "Prove it" deals. This guy could come here and be that dominant pass rusher we all want and need. Galette, Mathis, and Floyd would literally be a nightmare for opposing QB's. That's 3 guys who could all put up 10-12 sacks.

I wouldnt come close to paying Galette 8m per.  He signed a vet min deal, didn't play a snap, and now wants 7-9m?  His agent is dreaming.
