Colts Vs. N.Y. Giants Preseason Game Night Thread

Recommended Posts

I can see that. But if the coaches have what they need at special teams I think Burley gets the nod because he covers better.

We need some one who is good at returning kicks. Colts usually struggle there. Hard to not go with a guy who is showing that he has that ability.

Griff is more reliable but isn't a big play threat. DaRick is on any given play. Just depends on which way the coaching staff wants to augment the receiving corps. Luck has plenty of reliable types in Wayne, T.Y. and possibly Nicks. DaRick adds size and explosiveness to the mix that Griff can't match.

Luck can get away with a bad pass with DR

I think they're going to keep both. Rogers is a big-play receiver, I agree. I just want him to be more consistent.

There's also Moncrief who the coaching staff has been high on. It will be interesting to see who they go with. It will go down to the wire. Colts are stacked at wideout.

If Purifoy locks down the PR job Griff will have one less feather in his cap

Agreed. Griff hasn't had much room to operate back there thus far.

Chandler is looking pretty good this drive

A turd with legs would do well out there right now.

Boom was doing pretty well. I would give Purifoy a look too. The kick return has almost been removed from the game almost every kicker can slam it deep in the end zone. It is the PR that can really help flip field position

    • I realize Kirk Cousins took us deep in 2019 but he was fool's gold. Normally an average QB (bottom of top 15) doesn't do that. The end result was getting blown out by 49ers 10-27 without even reaching the NFC title game. Cousins beat the saints in the playoffs in over time on a ticky tacky no-pass interference call on third down in red zone, couldn't beat the saints in regulation while leading 20-10 like we did in 2017. See, it could be interpreted a number of ways.   Anyway, I was not trying to make it a Cousins debate.    Colts need a QB, I suggested there's a chance to get Cousins. Whether I'm happy with the current situation has nothing to do with this, there's a chance Cousins could be available after 2020 season and if not, he and Vikings would be tied up until 2022.    As the discussion is about all the QBs that could be had for Colts, I wanted to mention another option.
    • If we draft Hurts I will puke. JB is even better.
    • I realize Case Keenum took you deep in 2017 but he was fools gold. Normally a journey man QB/backup doesn't do that. The end result was getting blown out by the Eagles in the NFC Title Game 38-7. Kirk Cousins is a top 15 QB in the league which means he is above average. He and his team beat the Saints at New Orleans in the playoffs. Keenum beat the Saints at home on a miracle in the playoffs. Be happy with Kirk.
    • Not a huge fan of this.  Hurts is fine but not at 34.  Like the Claypool and Weaver picks.  The rest is meh for me.  I've seen much better on this fan site.
    • Yes he did, Blanda took it to the extreme  . This season will show us if Rivers does indeed still have it. I put our overall wins at 9.5 on a bet. I say 9 or 10 with the roster we have. I would bet over and say 10 because I think Ballard will nail the draft.
