Nate Collins, former Bear is still unsigned, so is Johnny Jolly of Packers

Recommended Posts

I was looking up Pro Football Focus ratings for DL that were free agents, this is what I found:

https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/01/01/2014-free-agent-interior-d-linemen/

Note: Some of them are already signed. This article is 3 months old

A couple of names still unsigned are Nate Collins standing at 6'2", 296 and Johnny Jolly at 6'3", 325.

Both of them had efficiency ratings pretty close or better than our DL that we have on our roster not named Arthur Jones.

Which one do you think can help us? I remember Pagano using a 285 lb Pernell McPhee (still on Ravens roster) to spell breathers for Arthur Jones when he was DC for Ravens, and provide some pass rush in pass rushing situations.

To me, Nate Collins fits that bill.

thoughts??

Collins signed with the bears March 9th. Jolly will probably stay in GB if he gets medical clearance from neck surgery in January. Is this an April Fools? I will play along.

I agree with The Gov think we are done until the draft. I'd look at Kevin Williams of Minn seems they have totally busted that line up. I wouldn't pay a lot but he can plug the middle provide some more depth. I'm pretty sure he'd probably retire before taking vets minimum though.

No it is not. I looked up http://www.nfl.com/freeagency and sorted through the DL, it lists Nate Collins without a new team. I'm surprised nfl.com does not get updated right.

At least it got Johnny Jolly and Kevin Williams right. :) Yep, Kevin Williams would definitely plug the middle and he was still performing at a good level in 2013.

He's looking for money last I saw 5 M. was the biggest reason Vikings haven't resigned him.

Not sure why it won't become a link but this site is pretty accurate if you want to keep looking for free agents. You can click on the player to get his updated status. I think Grigs is done for now maybe after the draft and if Williams price comes down.

There it did become a link. It hasn't been updated since March 28th but like I said if it says he's a free agent click on his name it will tell you his updated status who he is looking at who's looking at him etc. All positions listed his idea of best to worse good site.
