NFL Wide Mock-Top 50 FA (or so)

Recommended Posts

Alright guys. I've spent a couple days on this. Had to keep editing as teams re-signed players and made cuts. I don't expect things to pan out exactly like this, but I think it will be close. It's tough determining which DT will go to which team.

Contracts are simply years and total. Not worried about bonuses or guaranteed and such.

Put all the Colts signings at the bottom together.

As deals and terms are announced I'll update :)

Good Job Overpayed for De La Puente and Nicks and Clemons

I might have. I didn't do this meaning this is where I think players should sign and what they should get. It's where I think they will go, and what I think they will get. I honestly do think Clemons contract is a little high, I should have been more careful. he's probably closer to 4year/18M$. DLP- maybe 3-4M$ high. Nicks is tough to say. All depends on his market.

you may be right on for their dollar amount.  Coltstildeath has no idea if you over-payed.

I agree with sending Sanders to the Jets. I'm sure Ryan would love to get out of drafting a WR early so he can focus on defense as he always does.

Personally I like Ben Tate to the Giants more. They'll let either Wilson or Brown go eventually(both have durability concerns), and split carries with Tate. I think the Browns are leaning towards getting Hyde In the draft.

I honestly like Tate in New york rather than Cleveland, I just think Cleveland will pay him more than New York will. I don't know if this effects your thinking, but the Giants signed Hillis today.

I doubt Cleveland gets Woodley. They Have Mingo, Kruger, and Sheard. I expect Mingo to break out next year. I also cant see Vick getting that much money.

Sheards numbers have dropped every year, other than passes defensed, and he missed 3 games last year. He's going into his contract year, and can bet cut with no cap hit. They can upgrade this position if they want, they have the money.

Cleveland switched from a 4-3 to a 3-4 this season, moving Sheard from DE to OLB. Made the transition well, but the combination of missing the better part of 4 games and the position switch caused the dip in his numbers. Sheard will be a starter this year. If mingo beats out anyone, it will be Kruger, and it would be Kruger to go at the end of the season, not Sheard.

Maybe they like Hillis because you know what you get with him. I still think they would love Tate. But it may come down to money as you said. But let's not forget, Cleveland isn't exactly a place people are jumping out of their socks to go to with all that's gone on with the staff. But then again New York has never shown a propensity to be bold when it comes to FA or the draft.

I think Hillis is just a cheap depth move. He's like Bradshaw, a cheap veteran with high upside, but some issues. Cleveland is going to have a nasty defense. Whitner, Kruger, Dansby, a few others. Cleveland will be a QB and RB away from challenging for a wildcard. If Tate and Vick end up in Cleveland, they will have a very good team. Don't worry though, they'll draft Manziel and go 5-11 :)

    • Agreed   Freeland will come back 10-15 lbs stronger (I believe)  I view him as our next man up at Tackle   This kid will grow as well, possibly taking the RG spot in the future   Great pick up
    • Love the pick   He may be on the field by mid year at RG
    • In run blocking he would be similar to Fries in that with a little angle he can do a good job getting push. Fries is over matched trying to drive block because he isn't a bender. This guy isn't a bender but carries maybe 15 more lbs.  Gonc has been very successful as a pass blocker. If he can get some push in short yardage of which we desperately could use improvement at RG, and he proves an upgrade in pass pro over Fries, then yippee. To get that improvement this year in the 3rd round would be a real plus.  According to him his big toe injury was serious. Said he was 85-90% at his pro day and had only started training 3 weeks before. The 19 reps seemed to be a personal best. Yikes!  He had 21 college starts in 39 games. He was crossed trained and played LT, RT, LG, RG. This was from our new oline coach.   A big plus, and he apparently is very quick off the snap.   He is big but not so light on his "toe", so I believe he would get humbled playing tackle. I doubt worse than Freeland was last season so...  I'm impressed with his demeanor, and he is consider tough.   I give this pick a B.  Pray for the toe!!
    • Its REALLY interesting that Ballard could have drafted AD at 46, but were confident enough that someone else wasnt going to grab him while we traded back?   Gutsy move?  Nerves of Steel?, Lucky?   I think I would have just stayed put and taken AD   But then again......  Im just an old dude clacking away on a computer   STILL love the pick
    • I watched a video breakdown on him (before we picked him) where the analyst comps him to Lamb. I wish I could remember the analyst's name
