Because he hasn’t been offered the $$ he and his representatives think he’s worth.  Plain and simple - he’s chasing the money and it doesn’t matter where it is, JMO.

It’s very likely to be his last contract so you can’t blame him for getting all he can get.  
 

Venturi made a few good points about him.  He was a great player, but never very fast even at his peak.   And he’ll be 31 by the middle of the season. 
 

I’ll be happy if we get him, but not too disappointed if we don’t.

As we’ve seen a good amount recently, free safety Rodney Thomas II continues to creep into first-team reps. And when he’s one the field, that keeps Julian Blackmon at the strong safety spot. The Colts didn’t outright bench Cross after the Wednesday tackle of Josh Downs, but it did look like Thomas II got a few more first-team reps throughout the remainder of practice.
