Bud Grant passes away

Long-time Vikings head coach Bud Grant passed away today. He was 95. He was the head coach of the Purple People Eaters. Life well lived.

Yeah I do. RIP. Great coach and the Vikings were always good with him.

Bud was the oldest living NBA champion having won the title in 1950 with the Lakers, played 96 games in the league. Many arent aware he played both sports at the pro level.

Before accepting the job as Vikings head coach, Coach Grant was a winning coach in the CFL.

I can still see Bud standing on the sidelines with the  snow covering the field.  It It still strange to me seeing the Vikings playing under a dome.  We got our 1st 19 inch color TV around 1967 and seeing the Purple with the white snow was ingraved in my mind.

Amazing any coach at any level lives to that age when you consider all the pressure and highs and lows of coaching. RIP
