tvturner's Mockseason #1

Recommended Posts

I’ve got enough research done on most of the draft class and now that the Wentz ship has sailed, here’s the first go at this:

I believe we have around roughly $70m in cap

I’m not a cap wizard but I’ll attempt to keep contracts and deals as realistic as possible

Priority Needs: QB, LT, EDGE, WR

Secondary Needs: TE, CB, S

Re-Signings:

TY Hilton WR - 1 year, $5m

Mo Alie Cox TE - 2 years, $10m

George Odum S - 3 years, $9m

Tyquan Lewis DL - 1 year, $2m

Taylor Stallworth DT - 1 year, $1m

Michael Badgley K - 1 year, $1m

Ashton Dulin WR - 1 year, $3m

Chris Reed OG  - 2 years, $6m

Matt Pryor OT - 1 year, $3m

Matthew Adams LB/ST - 2 years, $4m

Total: $28m

Free Agents ($42m):

Rasul Douglas CB - 2 years, $16m

Chandler Jones - 2 years, $31m

Marcus Mariota QB - 1 year, $9m

Jordan Willis DE - 1 year, $2m

Isaiah McKenzie WR - 1 year, $3m

Draft Picks:

R2P42: Jalen Tolbert WR South Alabama

R3P73: Cade Otton TE Washington

R3P83: Rasheed Walker OT Penn State

R4P118: Jeffrey Gunter DE Coastal Carolina

R5P157: Martin Emerson CB Mississippi State

R5P178 (Projected Comp): Jerrion Ealy RB Ole Miss

R6P217 (Projected Comp): Ed Ingram OG LSU

R7P236: Smoke Monday S Auburn

R7P237: Antwuan Jackson DT Ohio State

Tolbert has proven he can hang with big talents of CFB and produce at high levels. He's fast, jabby, quick, and an excellent route runner. He'd pair perfectly in an offense with Pitt on the other side.

Otton is a great shifty tight end with arguably the best route running in the class. He's got good hands and speed at the position. Blocking needs a lot of improvement though.

Walker's got above average hand usage and is powerful at his size. He's going to need work on his base and moving at the tackle spit.

Gunter is a Ballard mold at DL and his potential is sky high. His combine was fantastic and he's got the twist at the position to be a slam dunk pick with proper development.

Emerson is a rangy, long, playmaker who could thrive in man against smaller receivers and blossom as a boundary zone corner.

Ealy, Ingram, Monday, and Jackson will all be valuable depth pieces who can battle for a spot on the 53.
