Yards Per Pass Attempt vs. Yards Per Carry

Saw this posted on Twitter by Josh Wilson. Nice telling plot. Run the Damn Ball would be more effective if our YPC was a little higher. It’s funny how you can see a stark divide between top tier and mid tier offenses when it comes to the relationship between running and passing effectiveness.

FWIW, Bill Polian used to say that the most important stat for determining a good offense is yards per pass attempt.  Of course, this was during an era where Jim Kelly and Peyton Manning ran more vertical offenses than what we have today.  Just food for thought.

What you can do is, is click on the image which makes it larger and then hit zoom on your settings. If it is at 125, take it 200 and then you can read it.
