VFiC and danlhart87 3 Round Mock Thread

Recommended Posts

I predict Chargers would sign Cam Newton once they're able to complete physicals. With Austin Ekeler signed in for passing game and as spell back, they pick the top RB to minimize workload for Cam, and use the QB's elite rushing only in the red zone and not between 20s. That way, Cam could be great again.

37th overall draft pick, Los Angeles Chargers select

DeAndre Swift, RB, Georgia

Dolphins got great QB-WR-OT combo in round 1, what a haul! Now, it's Defense' turn. This edge rusher is said to be designed for New England style of stacking the offensive line back into the QB and finish off the run. Room for consistency and growth here, but he's already capable of pass rushing and defending run.

39th overall draft pick, Miami Dolphins select

AJ Epenesa, EDGE, Iowa

Browns tried to trade for Anthony Harris of Vikings, but it didn't go through. This selection will only make Denzel Ward much better.

41st overall draft pick, Cleveland Browns select

Grant Delpit, Safety, LSU

There you go, 4 picks for the purple and gold :D

Bears like to draft top interior offensive linemen with versatility to play Center and Guard, so

Chicago Bears select with the 43rd overall draft pick,

Lloyd Cushenberry, C\G, LSU

I really didn't choose one particular college to draft, but it happens lmao

Chris Ballard came into the Colts organization chirping the importance of winning in the  trenches.

He improved the OL with the additions of Nelson and Smith.

Now after the Buckner trade he adds an even better option on the DL.

With the 44th pick in the NFL Draft the Indianapolis Colts select Jordan Elliott DT.

Clearly the best option is CB but a dominant DL and quality depth and rotation is key to winning in the NFL.

Bucs couldn't sign edge rushers Carl Nassib and Sam Acho, but having franchise tagged Shaq Barrett would help ease this prospect early in his career, who has elite attributes to be a first round talent but injuries have hindered his development and college football career to an extent.

45th overall draft pick, Tampa Bay Buccaneers select

Terrell Lewis, OLB, Alabama

Falcons got Dante Fowler Jr in the Free Agency, now they get an elite talent for the interior defensive line. Having got CJ Henderson, CB in first round, it's a serious infusion of top quality talent for Dan Quinn to turn their defense around for Matt Ryan.

Falcons select with the 47th overall draft pick,

Ross Blacklock, DT, TCU

Steelers released Javon Hargrave, they need to keep their defensive line their strength. Justin is versatile to play any interior position, and they can use him in different ways for the situations.

Bears got Foles but there's no telling how long he sticks around and Trubisky is done so the Bears start grooming the future.

With the 50th pick in the NFL Draft the Chicago Bears take Jalen Hurts QB.

Russell Wilson needed a great offensive line for all his career but just now it's all starting to come together. They got tackles Brandon Shell and Cedric Ogbuehi in Free Agency, now they get a top class Center to fix it all for once. Scouts rave about his technique, IQ, leadership, and scheme versatility, I wonder why he's not rated close to first round.

59th pick, Seattle Seahawks select

Matt Hennessy, C, Temple

Didn't realize he was born and brought up in Minneapolis.. that's Minnesota all his career and life, just few zip code changes :)

I guess Vikings fans already would say he's sick of Minnesota like Diggs.., right @NFLfan:explode:

For long, LB Nick Vigil was one of the lone bright spots in the defensive front for Bengals. It looks like he's not returning and he gets replaced here by a versatile rusher who has positional flexibility to play outside and in the interior.

65th pick, Cincinnati Bengals select

Joshua Uche, EDGE, Michigan

    • Not trying to be argumentative but you simplifying this issue is not the reality of it all. Not only are there 53 players plus 10 practice squad players (90 in training camp) there are how many others around a NFL team? Doctors, trainers, coaches, assistant coaches, coordinators and whoever else. Just the sheer space need to keep social distance is impossible.  All of these people have families away from a locker room so it's not like they are going to be quarantined.  How about the mental aspect of the players? Can the players put all of this out of their thought process when their mindset has to be 100% about the game itself?  We are always reminded about distractions in the locker room and how it can have a negative effect.  IMO this goes much deeper than what can and can't be controlled.
    • Its funny you say that.... I feel the same......   Strange times......
    • I would tend to agree   There is significant $$ moving around so I believe there will be a season of some sort.... maybe shortened.....   I think the NFL union may hold the players back from competing until there is a resolution or some protection.   We are seeing a crazy jump in new cases in Texas. (My daughter just tested positive   she is ok now)    If we are in mid August and the new cases in Covid starts to drop AND the death rates are dropping we may see a season.....   If not..... we may see a start in Oct......   Who knows....
    • There is a big difference. After they all get initially tested the chances of it spreading among players is low. With the amount of times they will be tested and the fact none are going to even get in the facility with even a slight cough until they are tested the chances of it spreading is pretty small. Yes initially there will be some. I don’t even believe there are all these asystematic  cases. I think there are a lot of false positives. Which is why the nfl has a different protocol for them.
