Ballard has said that he’s saving cap space to re-sign keepers.  I see one from this year’s FAs - Glowinski (let’s keep the OL band together!).  The rest are 1-yr deals.  Only outside FA is Ronald Darby, who gets a big deal.

Draft:

1) Jachai Polite, DE, Florida.  Bookend for opposite side of Turay.

 

2) Rashard Lawrence, NT, LSU.  Athletic 5 -star recruit who slides in a strong DT class.

 

2) Lavert Hill, CB, Michigan.  Undersized dynamic player of the ball.

 

3) Garrett Bradbury, OL, NC St.  Interior OL who can be top depth.  

 

4) Marquise Brown, WR, Oklahoma.  TY type receiver for the slot.

 

4) Juan Thornhill, S, Virginia.  Can back up Farley in the box.

 

5) Joe Dineen, LB, Kansas.  Tackle machine who’s improving in coverage to back up Franklin at SAM.

 

6) Kyle Kempf, QB, Iowa St.  Rough recent injury past, but he’s developable with size and accuracy.

 

7) Qadree Ollison, RB, Pitt.  Big, short-yardage back.

Yeah, i had an OT in the 2nd, but I decided that it’s a year early to draft Castonzo’s successor,  in the meantime, LeRaven did pretty well this year...

One name stands out however...

 

Marquise Brown of Pjkahoma has been mentioned as a possible first round pick.   So I don’t think he gets past Day 2 and reaches the 4th round.

I’ll have to wait until the combine for the measurements on Polite. But so far it seems Ballard likes length in his DEs. Turray is 6’5”, Basham was 6’4”, And Basham is 6’3”. All have 33” arms as well.

 

They’ve got Polite listed at 6’2” and that could really mean 6’1”.

Hmmm, I hadn’t noticed the trend on our DEs, but Sheard and Phillips are our shortest at 6’3” right now.  I’ll have to think about that.  As for Brown, I kinda had him comped to Keke Coutee, who had similar size and speed.  They definitely get dinged by scouts for their size.  Difficult to say where he ends up, but an 11/6/2018 board on Fanspeak had him available for this pick.  You could be right though - he has almost 900 yards and 7 TDs already...
