They are. He was actually the tied 7th best ED this week according to their advanced stats.  Hunt was 5th.

 

(Advanced stats is their play by play analyzis, not that 0-100 scale "grading" that you see everywhere. The former is serious stuff imo, it's been used by many NFL teams. The latter is, well .... imo, it's as serious as madden rating).

pressure is a worthless metric if the pass was completed.  pff got it wrong, sheard made little impact on sunday

Worthless? Then why every QB has a drastically worse QB rating under pressure than without pressure?

Could Sheard have been applying enough pressure to tie up one and a half blockers so the other rusher gets a hit on the QB as the pass is completed?

 

I think PFF looks at how well a player executed their assignments and not just the stats we look at, but maybe they don't get that deep either.
