Irsay

Yeah... Please don’t talk about Jim not caring again. Regardless of how you may feel. At the end of the day it’s a business. Decisions have to be made putting feels aside. We all know what kind of special man Chuck was. However the team needs to head into a different direction.

dream on even though you are wrong

Irsay sat in the room when Polian would draft.  You are dreaming if you think he was telling Polian who to pick.  Irsay was the Colts GM for awhile and has admitted he was bad at it.  I doubt very seriously he overrides his GMs on picks because that’s what he’s paying them for.  He knows he’s not good at it and hasn’t spent most of the year working with scouts to be informed on who to take.  If he did he wouldn’t have a GM because it would be a waste of money and that guy would quit.

If look around the league on draft night a lot of owners are in the war room because it’s a big moment for their franchise and they want to know what’s going to happen. It doesn’t mean they are making the pick.  What do you think Irsay should just sit at home and find out what the guys he’s paying to run his franchise are going to do by watching tv like the rest of us?  He’s not going to do that he wants and deserves to know the process that goes into these decisions it doesn’t mean he makes them.  He also tends to like to talk to who they are going to draft and welcome them to the Colts, letting the kid know right off the bat the guy that will signing his paycheck is invested in him.

So there are reasons for him to be there other than to make the decision.  If you don’t want to believe them then that’s your choice.  I think you will find many don’t agree with you.

That's right. Jim has to know where and to whom to send his jet to pick up.

Then explain #1 your reason Irsay did nothing to protect the franchise QB and don't blame Grigs and #2 the reasons for the collapse of this franchise to an embarrassment and weak everywhere on defense and offense.

You sure about that when you see the owner in the same room as all the coaches watching the draft??? Who owns the team?

You confirm my take. Do you honestly believe their is a GM that has final say over any owner? If you saw the press conference on the HC subject Jimbob stated the final call is his not the GMs. There is an old saying in the business world that will forever hold true. It goes like this, " The boss may not always be right but they are always the boss".

Just out of curiosity where do you come up with this kind of stuff?

If you really believe what you are saying getting some help should be a high priority on things you need.

Maybe a New Years resolution ??

No one here has ever sat in on meetings between GMs and owners but understand the owners is the boss. The GM makes the calls as long as they are in line with the owners opinion. That does not mean owners and GMs must agree on individual talent and potential but they must follow the teams philosophy. Jerry Jones my finest example.
