Gordon Hayward Horrific Injury

Recommended Posts

I went off a lot on this in the basketball thread. Just omg........shook me up HARD tonight. I am okay now. But I am just like.......why? I mean his first start as a Celtic and in the first quarter that happens? I just cannot even believe it.

It looked SO BAD.

He's a good guy too.

I was so into this Brad Stevens/Gordon Hayward reunion which btw will still happen again on the court, it has to........it's destiny.

We will still have this happen with Hayward and Brad Stevens getting back to the big game again. It has to happen someday.

Both the Celtics and Cavs looked distraught. I think they all could hear it snap too, same with the people in the first few rows.

SUCKS. I mean seriously.

I can't even believe Rodgers got hurt badly a few days ago and today Hayward and Luck isn't back yet:Cry:

I watched it live, I was like I am pretty sure his ankle is completely crooked.  Hopefully he'll be ok.  I think I read fractured ankle?  If that's the case he should make it back this year.  That would be LeBron's luck though, the one team that can play with Cleveland will be down there first(arguably) or second best player.  I am hoping for a speedy recovery for Gordon, looked brutal.

Yeah being in Indy and watching him during all those Butler years, watching his NBA career prosper and reuniting with Brad I had high hopes.  Such terrible Luck, hope he has a quick recovery.  Apparently there's some cautious optimism about his return also in March, April which would be in time for the playoffs.  I don't think there's any point in rushing him back though but if he's 100% medically cleared and the Celtics are on the verge of the playoffs why not.  Good news is they said it was a clean break, there could've been more damage it seems.

I put this in the other NBA thread but should have just left it here.

Awesome message from Kobe Bryant to Gordon Hayward:

Be sad. Be mad. Be frustrated. Scream. Cry. Sulk. When you wake up you will think it was just a nightmare only to realize it’s all too real. You will be angry and wish for the day back, the game back THAT play back. But reality gives nothing back and nor should you. Time to move on and focus on doing everything in your power to prepare for surgery, ask all the questions to be sure you understand fully the procedure so that you may visualize it in your subconscious while being operated on and better the chance of it’s success. Then focus on the recovery process day by day by day. It’s a long journey but if you focus on the mini milestones along the way you will find beauty in the struggle of doing simple things that prior to this injury were taken for granted. This will also mean that when you return you will have a new perspective. You will be so appreciative of being able to stand, walk, run that you will train harder than you ever have. You see the belief within you grow with each mini milestone and you will come back a better player for it. Best of luck to you on this journey my brother #mambamentality always.

    • Wilson IMO is too much like Downs. Not sure we would want to pick another predominantly slot player.    IMO the players that make the most sense at WR are - AD Mitchell, Ladd(he again plays a bit of slot, but he's also a bit more versatile, he's played about 75% of his snaps in other alignments), Troy Franklin - he can be a Z for us... Jermaine Burton?!? if he's cleared character-wise?? I like Malik Washington but he's predominantly slot too so not sure he's a fit here.
    • While having 6 QBs go in the first 12 picks pushed some talent towards us... it probably also contributed to it being extremely hard for Ballard to trade up. It's just way too hard to make teams move away from QBs or to outbid teams who are bidding for their QB. I think 5 was probably our best chance for trade up... Arizona reportedly completely shut down any offers - they just wanted MHJ and they took him. 5 was probably our best chance, but it probably was way too steep of a price. Giants probably didn't want to move from Nabers, division rival Titans not great trade partner, Atlanta... wanted a freaking QB for some reason?!?!? Then Bears got their dream player drop to them and IMO that was probably the last chance we had.
    • I wouldn't mind if we traded up early if we picked one of these three players: 1. Texas A&M LB Edgerrin Cooper 2. Iowa CB Cooper DeJean 3. Texas WR Adonai Mitchell
    • Round 2/3 Wishlist 1. Texas A&M LB Edgerrin Cooper 2. Iowa CB Cooper DeJean 3. Texas WR Adonai Mitchell 4. Rutgers CB Max Melton 5. Michigan LB Junior Colson 6. Western Kentucky WR Malachi Corley 7. Minnesota S Tyler Nubin 8. Iowa State CB T.J. Tampa 9.Oregon WR Troy Franklin
    • Finally CB drafted a Edge with production, not only high RAS. But then it's a guy with big injury concerns. Anyway....any player can get a serious injury on any given play. So, welcome to Indy! Give everything you have on the field and stay healthy!   Gotta find a DB and WR in round 2. Think DeJean is still on the board?! Round 2 is probably where his value is.
