Jim Irsay's Kindness

I'm posting this because there have been many derisive comments directed at Mr. Irsay in light of the team's performance this season and his Twitter activity. The Colts also sent an arrangement to the funeral of a young relative of my wife who passed away suddenly, and it was noted in his obituary that he was a huge fan.

First, my sympathy to your wife and family on the loss of a loved one. Also, you are correct. There have been many derisive comments. So, thank you for posting a positive story.

However, the link you provided takes me to a "comment page" where I cannot read the article. So, I did a search to find the article. But, I am confused. The story I read there was not about a young male fan who had passed away. It was about an 80 year-old female. Perhaps, he sent flowers to more than one funeral?

Thanks for posting! Irsay definitely likes to joke around (his Twitter page will agree), but he is also a very classy guy. This is a great gesture by him.

Irsay is one of the best owners in all of sports. He gets that there is more to owning a team than just the team you put on the field. He has been great for the city of Indianapolis. It is so hard to believe he is his father's son at times.

To clarify, my wife's cousin passed away nearly 4 years ago, so it's a different case than the one mentioned in this story. We were blown away to see the arrangement from the Colts at the funeral. It now appears that ours was not a one-off instance. A classy thing for the Colts to do.

Jim Irsay gets a bad rap from a lot of people on here. A lot of people bash him for using Twitter as much as he does, implying that it somehow takes away from doing his job as CEO of the Colts. That is a joke.
