Before Caldwell was named HC he was our Qb coach, Right?

If yes, That doesnt mean he was manning qb coach, because manning pretty much coached himself, but that would mean caldwell would focus more on the second string and third string qb's( being Painter).

So, with this said, do we blame caldwell for Painters lack of ability to be an NFL QB, or is this purely all Painter?

I would say both. it is not coaches fault that Painter can't hit wide open receivers that most high school qb's can make, but is is coaches fault that he does'nt know how to help or what to do.Caldwell is sure not king Midas, cause nothing he touches turns to gold, just ask the folk at WAKE AND NOW HERE!

Painter came into this league/team in 2009, that was Caldwell's first year as the head coach, so the development thingy is partly his fault. but if you blame a coach it's the QB coach, who I believe was Frank Reich back then.

First of all Curtis Painter is a horrible quarterback. No pocket presence, not much accuracy of anything over 5 yards. He's bad. With that said, I put an equal amount of blame on Caldwell & Christensen for having him fail at running an offense that Peyton Manning cultivated for 13 years. There was zero chance for anyone to come in this year and run it at a Manningesque level. Sorgi would have likely been the best case scenario for us(if healthy), just based on him a ) being better than painter b ) having knowledge of the offense. We'd be at 4-6 wins right now with Sorgi, but I blame Caldwell and the remaining member of the clueless duo Christensen for not adapting the offense which would have been better suited for Collins, Painter or Orlovsky. Sign a FB early in the year. Run 60% of the time instead of throwing 63% of the time(moronic), run out of the I with a play action package, and a boot-action package for Painter. We would have been much better suited than expecting Painter to pretend he's Manning.

So there is enough blame to go around between the Polian's, Caldwell, Christensen and Painter himself.

Painter doesnt no how to get rid of the ball when theres pressure, and hes similar to how kerry was in that he sometimes waits for receivers to be open, instead of putting it where the receiver will be and where only he can get it, but i guess thats a pretty high caliber qb, to add to that, he probably doesnt know how to get receivers open at the los before the snap... whether it be a call or change in route or identifying a mis match, so he shouldnt need to look around, or wait for someone to be open if he knows his prime option and his next best open receiver, then throw the thing away or dump it off. it is easyer said than done. maybe he has trouble seeing over the linemen!
