Who Will Be Playing On Sunday?

I was just over at Colts.com reading some early reports pertaining to this week's matchup with Carolina. It sounds like Coach Caldwell was not willing to go into too much detail on who he is planning to start at quarterback on Sunday. It is only Monday, and I am sure that his mind will not be made up completely until he sees how both Painter and Orlovsky performs in practice this week, but it kind of sounded like it is 50/50 at this point. I really don't have a dog in this fight, I just want to see the guy who will give us the best chance at a win out there on the field.

Also, both Joseph Addai and Dallas Clark are questionable. I think that the absence of Addai is a much more serious problem than the abscence of Clark. I think that Jacob Tamme has really done an awesome job filling in for Clark (Tamme led the team in receiving yards in our last game), but replacing Addai has been a different story. Donald Brown is a good backup, but when Addai isn't out there it really hurts our running game.

There is no doubt that the team is a little banged up right now (starting offensive lineman Joe Reitz is also questionable), so this bye week couldn't have come at a better time. I hope that we take the field on Sunday rested and ready to go. I am predicting victory. Go Colts!

It could very well be he knows who is going to start at QB on Sunday too and just isn't telling anyone. If they are going to make a QB switch it would be in their best interest to make the Panthers get ready for both and hope they plan more for Painter since he has been the starter. It's frustrating for us because we want to know but sometimes it's best not to lay all your cards on the table.

As for the other gusy I think they honestly might not know yet. A lot of those things are that the player is coach and they just don't know till the day of. That or again the Colts lie and say it's close making the other team have to prepare for more things. I would agree they might not gain much from that little ploy but I think most would agree that this team needs any help they can get at this point.

My point is I read a report on Colts.com and I posted a topic in this forum with my thoughts about what I read. Feel free to comment on whether you think it will be Painter or Orlovsky starting on Sunday, if you agree with what I said about Tamme doing a great job filling in for Clark, or if Addai being out of the game concerns you as much as it does me. If you don't want to comment on anything that I said, then please, just don't comment at all. Go find a thread where someone didn't go over 15 words. Thanks...

It doesnt matter who starts for the colts at QB, they dont look like an NFL team at all... i believe the only reason the colts defense was good against the Jags is because they are a rival opponent and in the same division.... the colts always get gashed by dual threat QB's not to mention their running game.. when it comes to the offense i dont think there will be a change in QB they will let painter play the rest of the season then cut him.

There is no point to your post. It doesn't matter who plays.

As the NFL website said tday - "Bye week in Indianapolis. Everyone who follows the NFL really, really missed Colts football. It's hard to find that kind of quality without going overseas".

We're a laughing stock and Polian(s) and Caldwell are still in work. Tells you everything you need to know about Irsay and his utter disconnect with the real world.

your post makes even less of a point than that other guy.

If Irsay fires Polian and Caldwell its ok right? But when Jerry Jones does that type of stuff, you and others think he is Satan. Comon man.

keep it realistic please. Mr. Irsay is not Jerry Jones, he is not gonna start firing people left and right. Be realistic please.

    • I'm very interested in Carlie's as well.  I'm just not sold on our starting LB core.
    • I also forgot to say I think Buffalo will also have a down year.
    • Yeah North.....maybe I got confused about the Pittsburgh Pirates playing in the central.  But I think before realignment there were only 3 divisions, I think.. Like the Colts and Dolphins played in the East, the Raiders and Broncos played in the West and the Steelers and Brownies played in the Central.  But yeah my mistake the Steelers currently in the North division.
    • I just wanted to give Pitt some love for his recent comments about Indy and family values. I also loved what he said about focusing on the long term financially and considering the situation youre in. He appreciates his place in the organization and that speaks volumes about him as a man. The Texans can have guys like Diggs, Im happy with Pitt. Just a top notch dude.    This is a place a lot of people love to hate on, for some reason. But he is living proof that all this rhetoric about how "nobody wants to live in Indiana" is just bonafied baloney. So many former players stick around here after retirement. There is a reason for that.    He is the exact kind of person you would think wouldnt like it here. Rich california kid whose father played in the NFL. Lives on a little farm in Indiana with his wife, who is also from California. And they both love it here.    Those huge cities are very over rated and it isnt for everyone. We just have to find people like Pitt who do and allow them to become pillars of the franchise.
    • "I think he flashed last year and can add some value to the LB room."  And I also responded directly to the LB room question. I will simplify, he has a looooow ceiling.   So what's the Problem, why argue?
