Cutler Confirmed Broken Thumb

Jay Cutler might be out 6 to 8 weeks with a broken thumb. Bears have been playing well, but now their D has to step up another notch.

I feel bad for Lovey Smith. He has morphed the Tampa 2 into a reasonable D, and Martz/Cutler were finally starting to show a nice balanced O attack. Will the Bears free fall from here?

I am not a Cutler fan, but it is painful to watch the way he gets beat up every game. They just knock the tar out of him seems like every time he plays.

Caleb Haney....the kid is in a tough spot, but at least Forte has been very good and the D is playing well.

I think Haney will do a decent job filling in for Cutler, but Jay was really beginning to pull it together. He and the rest of the offense have really been clicking as of late, so this injury has really unfortunate timing for the whole team's sake. I agree that it is mostly going to be up to the defense to carry the Bears through the remainder of the season. It is going to be tough for them from this point on.

Talk about a gut punch.

The Bears have finally got it together and were really starting to roll. Bennett and Williams were finally giving Cutler some real receivers to throw to and Forte has just been a beast all year.

I am sure the media will some how come up with a way to bash Cutler for trying to stop the DB.
