So wait a minute, they are having an awards lunchon for both teams prior to their game the next day and a couple guys from VA state decided, "Hey lets go over there and beat the tar out of their QB"

Was this a strategy to help bring them victory or something?

    • Another part of the issue is that he has bet on some older TE prospects. Woods, Ogletree, Mallory…all older players.   If you have TE prospects who never really dominated in college and are already 23-25…hard to bank on potential occurring at the highest level. It worked with Doyle, but he’s a bit of an outlier.   Prob better off signing some mid-level FA who is in his mid-late 20s with a known floor than chase potential of a TE already in his mid 20s. Or at least have a combination so there’s a floor. That’s what is really missing from the room…a high floor player.    You also have to actually invest in the position, which typically means multiple Day 2 picks. Ballard didn’t even draft a TE for several years. And the only real draft investment was Woods in R3 and Granson in R4. I go back to that 2021 draft and still can’t understand how he passed on Muth, who was a perfect replacement for Doyle.

    • Look, I'm not trying to be arguimentive but Ballard is not a bad GM Irsay is not going to fire Ballard anything soon. Might as well either accept it or continue to whine.
    • My evaluation is irrelevant. I'm just a fan.   But on this forum, I don't see how else we as fans can evaluate the GM without looking at his past successes and failures.
    • How you evaluate a GM and how Jim Irsay evaluates him is on different spectrums. You evaluate strictly on wins and losses, and some owners may put a great emphasis on that, but it’s greatly diminishing the responsibilities of a GM in a multi billion dollar nfl organization.
