Could we trade up in to the second ?

Recommended Posts

I was thinking are we really set at RB or could we use a Monte Ball or Eddie Lacy ?  I like Vic Ballard but I'm not sold on the others  , I'm wondering can we give up next years 1'st to get one of these guys ?

No way Grigson wastes a first rounder like that.

Like your thinking, but want Bernard...Maybe this years 4th and next years 2nd.

Offensive Line and CB should be a priority. Besides Thomas and Cherilus we have not much. Ijalana and Anderson are a biq questionsmark so is Greg Toler who didn't play much the last three years due to injurys so we could need a CB too. Tharold Simon, Blidi Wreh-Wilson would be nice picks.

Oh no, what was the reason?

I'm copying and pasting NCF post since he brought it to our attention earlier:

Simon was parked in the wrong spot and a cop asked him to move his car...

The kid told the officer that someday he was going to 'own this whole town' and that 'he'd own the officer too!' and that 'the Mayor was on his side!'

Officer wrote him up for trying to intimidate a police officer (among other offenses)

Simon was considered a likely 5th to 7th round pick..... Good luck now pal..!!!

Oh.... here's your story if you want to read it and get a good laugh!

I can't see any way we give up next years first....I would love us next year to do kinda what Atlanta did a couple years ago and go way up the board and get a wr...like going after Lee or someone. I would think (barring major injuries or stumble) we could be a piece or two away from a championship by next year....and those future picks could be real handy moving way up for that prototypical #1 receiver. I don't see anyone this year worth taking with our 3rd rd pick at wr much less trading next years for.

As for other positions I do like Warford but he is going to go off the board quick tonight considering how fast OL has been depleted in this draft.

    • Davis had a very good rookie season after being drafted in the 2nd round out of Ohio State (I believe).   Graded in the 70’s against both the run and pass.      But his last three years have been disappointing, as he’s graded in the mid-50’s.   The reason I’m so interested in this signing, is (A) I’m sure it was heavily influenced by the new DL coach, Partridge.   And (B) we’re paying him 2/14.  I don’t recall that kind of money ever being given to a basic backup before.   Don’t think Davis is here to push Stewart, the Colts just signed him to 3/39.  That tells me the Colts defensive staff sees him differently.   I don’t know what the plan the staff has come up with for Davis, but I’m looking forward to watching it play out.
    • What I’m reading on him the Pacers did get good value. Looks like he will need time to develop but he is in the right situation to do that. The pacers are stacking some quality young players that will prove to be more outstanding depth or assets if they choose to make a trade. Very exciting time for the team right now.
    • I’m not a religious person, but since you’re an educator I think you’re doing Gods work!   In these crazy insane times we’re all living in you’re doing one of the toughest jobs on earth.  And you’re teaching perhaps the most difficult generation to deal with.     From a distance it feels like you’re being very unfair to you.  I’m hoping in time you’ll see yourself in a completely different light.    Someone highly thought of.  A leader in the community.  A protector of young minds.   I couldn’t admire a teacher more.
    • You are too self-deprecating. You are one of the most respected and bright members here. You should never feel that you are failing. I'm sure your wife and children don't feel that way.  Indiana does not pay teachers what they deserve. But money is overrated. Having good morals and good character should be valued a lot more. JMO.
