I'm going to Montreal this week. Had I realized that Montreal was on the path of the total solar eclipse, I would have traveled to Montreal yesterday and spent a week. It is a once in a lifetime experience. One cousin in Montreal sent us some pics. They are beautiful.

If I have to add salt to the wound, the path of a solar eclipse is so narrow and elusive, you won't get another opportunity in your lifetime :D and if you do, that could get added to Guinness Book of Records.

There's no solar eclipse for almost all of US, Canada or Asia in next ten years though USA gets another total Eclipse after 20 years.

So, fortunate to see these photos when we can :)

It did.  Like night time dark. Started slow but then very fast at the end.  Then it started to get brighter very quickly as well when sunlight started to return.  Neighbors timing lights went on when it went dark and four minutes later when light started to return they went off. You saw neighbors in their yards then you didn’t.  Really cool.

That's very awesome, I think I experienced that only as a child and don't remember that well now. In photo, it looks like a perfect Eclipse. It's cool to experience the night darkness for few minutes.

When the Moon starts to move away, it gives a glimpse of ring-like view, that'd also look cool when photographed. Need to search for the photos.

Yes we will.  We are in the direct path as well.  Should start at 2pm with totality at 3:20pm.  A little mixed cloud and sun right now.  Should improve as we get closer to totality.  Keeping fingers crossed.  Enjoy it where you are as well.  It’s going to be a great experience for sure.

So, did it get dark all around, if you're having total solar eclipse?

Yeah, it's special if you get totality, which would happen like very few times in lifetime, if lucky. Most often eclipses in  lifetime in one's region will only be partial, and that won't give the same experience - not even close - as today.

I have been very sick and in and out of the hospital 4 times over the last few months.  Hopefully I can improve enough to be more involved in the future.

Thank you for replying, missed you in this year mock draft. I guessed you are going through this, as you mentioned last time, so very good to see you here. Take care, I sure would pray for you to be at your best again. Take your time in getting back here, hope you got to follow some Colts games.

homer simpson lol GIF- I would be the stinker of the group, can't deny it. Those guys rule.

You've done all right... They're just from different planet haha   I'd have been one of those who took a car to go near he finish line.

I visited a native American Village in the hills in NM, and the houses were at the top of the hill, and we went in bus to the very street. A mile away before reaching that hill, I saw a native American girl running towards there in barefoot in hot summer on midday, and she ran all the way up and reached their village not many minutes since we arrived.. now imagine doing the same?

We are a team right now like chasing the Kenyon's in a race/ chasinga great runner in general = Chiefs, Ravens, Cincy with Burrow, and probably Houston who can a race in an hour and 5 minutes to an hour 45 minutes lol. We run it in 2 hours. When I did run that, I wanted to run it even faster but my goal was 2 hours, I was the Colts I guess haha . There were many that were the Panthers, Commanders, and Cards of that run. Some couldn't even finish and others were timed in nearly 4 hours. The guy that won it ran it like in an hour and 5 minutes, I met him and asked him how the hell do you run like that? He couldn't even speak English chuckling homer simpson GIF

Imagine going to Kenya and running a marathon with all of them lmao

Imagine had we caught that pass and won the division?? This forum would've been praising Ballard for winning the Division, Shane would have been up for coach of the year, and many would have wanted Minshew back. It is amazing how 1 play changes everything.

I imagine if that RB4 had caught that pass.....

It would've got a first down.

Still 15 yards away to score a TD.

For the nth, infinite time, it was not just 1 play from winning the division...

Sad, away from reality... But the truth doesn't go by the narrative.

I still don’t know why so many people think our roster sucks. We took a backup QB and were relevant until the final game. Considering most “experts” had us maybe winning 4 games with AR, I think we did well given the circumstances.
Most teams would have collapsed. We didnt. funny thing is, if that pass hadn’t been dropped, many in here would be singing a different tune.

but none of that matters now, it’s ARs team. It’s on him now to stay healthy and lead this team. If we can get him some reliable weapons, we stand to surprise a lot of people.

It's nice to get 9 wins with backup QB, but it happened in a bad division. Jags were strong, then fell apart. Texans were up and down, then won in the final stretch.

If Colts were in AFC North or AFC West, or even in AFC East, those 9 wins wouldn't have come...

The real test is if Jaguars and Texans play to the best of their ability in 2024 season which would finally mimic competition in other AFC divisions, we'll see where Colts roster stands at the end of this upcoming season.

If those 2 are considered dart throws as 3rd rounders.

Wouldn't Jacob Eason in the 4th be considered one as well?

I wouldn't consider Ehlinger one(2021 6th round), but really what is the difference in mid to late round QB prospects. Aren't they all dart throws after round 1?

Luck retired prior to season in 2019, post draft.

Eason drafted in 2020 draft, less than a year after Luck retired. Literally couldn't of thrown a dart any quicker than that.

Suppose a big deal will be made about the difference of being a 3rd or 4th round pick.

Ridder and Willis were selected in '22 draft, which had historically bad QB class. They were also 2nd and 3rd QBs taken, after 60+ other players were selected, it was so bad even QB needy teams were afraid to pull the trigger.

Yeah, I'd not have worried about Ballard not drafting QB that year, in the first place.

Perhaps one could argue it was good time for a dart throw, as if the 2nd selected QB worked out, team was spending only a late day 2 draft pick, which in other years would require a top 5 overall draft pick to select one of the top 3 QBs.

Eason was selected in '20 draft, which had one of the best QB classes in recent years.

I think we can't just ignore the value of draft pick, when we say anything after round 1 for QB is a dart throw. If Round 2 draft pick was not highly valued, perhaps Ballard could've drafted Jalen Hurts which Philly did to find a franchise QB. Or how Packers spent ~#25 draft pick to select Jordan Love in the same draft.

No other team was willing to part a draft pick around #50, to draft a QB who may or may not work out but Philly had some confidence that Hurts wouldn't be a total bust and they could get some serviceable years to spend a Round 2 draft pick.

Eason pick was a blind dart throw like almost all teams do in day 3, just to select a QB as camp and practice addition. Teams have very low confidence that the QB will work out, and the expectations are low.

Personally, I'd like teams to evaluate QBs to find if they are slightly confident of the QB working out in some aspect, and be ready to spend a draft pick in top 50 like Philly and GB did. That they are willing to not draft a borderline round 1 graded player, in other positions and instead select a QB who may or may not work out, but they think their guy might have better chance.

Spending a day 3 pick basically means nothing, once in a while there may be a Brady or Purdy, but no one is expecting that. Sometimes, teams get a Cousins or Prescott too, but that's just rare compared to QBs selected at least within top ~50 draft picks.

I think if AR doesn't look like a franchise QB and the Colts miss the playoffs again(i.e. no improvement), Ballard is as good as gone.

To be clear, to get back to your original point, I agree that Ballard seems to be banking on AR's success to elevate the roster because who other difference-maker is in the roster who can win you all play-off games? I agree, in that sense, he's relying on AR to do very very well, but I'd also say that'd be too much for the young QB's shoulders.

Also, while agreeing above, IMHO, AR's success or failure doesn't decide Ballard's tenure. As I said, Irsay will have to find many more things in disagreement with Ballard in order to fire him.

Both Tennessee and ATL made the right decision to take a shot on a talented QB when they knew they didn't have their long-term guy on the roster. It didn't work for them... it's normal, a lot of picks don't work out and not just at QB and it doesn't automatically make the decision wrong or a mistake. This is something you don't seem to understand - the process is much more important than the low level details. I've said a ton of times - I care about what Ballard does on a philosophical level, much more than the specifics... I defer a lot to him and the scouting department on specific players. And I don't expect every player to hit... and I don't consider every miss a mistake.

Thank You, these are all very important points we need to keep reminding ourselves, especially during the Draft Season.

That seems to be the sentiment for the majority here, even those who ardently defend Ballard every awaken hour here says that (I believe that's just in jest), but I don't think that will be the case.

Just my opinion. But, let's not go there, let's hope AR becomes great, gives some great seasons for Colts.

Ballard spent his whole tenure with the Colts telling us "it's not about one guy" and here we are 7 years later... Ballard betting his job on the development and play of one guy.

    I guess narratives change... :D

Seriously, I think Ballard hasn't changed. He's not betting on AR, neither his job relies on AR's success.

Right or wrong, Irsay believes in Ballard so much and Ballard finds no rush in changing his philosophy or tweaking some of his tactics in off-season.

I think Ballard will continue to build the roster his own way, slow and steady, via draft and keeping mostly the players he drafts. Whether that leads to success, even if AR works out well, remains to be seen as QB success alone doesn't win a Super Bowl. (That's a very major factor but even Mahomes sometimes needs a strong roster and some key players on offense and defense around him).

Whether Ballard achieves success or same status quo remains to be seen, and even if not, I think Irsay will have to find many things in disagreement with Ballard in order to fire him.

    Christian Jones, OT, Texas

@funktacious2 As you weren't available and hadn't sent any preferred choices (I could've missed), I had chosen these selections for Jaguars.

As only Colts selected after your picks, if you would like to choose different players

From the list of players available in Big Board, you can feel free to post your picks.

anyway you decide, please confirm the selections.

You’re telling people what to say and think. Telling people what they post is nonsense is a problem. You don’t see that as a problem and why what you say becomes confrontational. You could have made your point without saying that and why you think different. Not everything you disagree with is nonsense.

Problem is people get fixated on some word and don't try to understand how people communicate...

Not everyone can convey eloquently like some people expect here.

Somebody saying "it's just that simple" doesn't mean they think it's simple, it's just a way of how people talk languages. Some communicate crisp and clear, some come across differently. There are wide spectrum of such just as we come across different people in Life.

Bigger problem is, when guys try to look for words that trigger and constantly hangs on to it, and continues to find the pattern in message boards in everyone else and try to point out to others how they shouldn't say this or that, that becomes a nuisance (just to Rhyme with nonsense :spit:)
