While the hits are entertaining, I view them as somewhat cheap. It is an opportunistic blast and completely not necessary. I have delivered big hits like this on kickoffs when the guy was turning the corner and didn't see me coming at full speed. (high school so obviously not this vicious). I was 6'3" 215 at the time. The biggest of the two, I actually walked to the side line and vomited because it hurt me too. I thought I was big and bad at the time, but feel kind of bad looking back at it. Not sure if I matured or turned into a Sally.

On the flipside, the player should be well aware that when changing direction to follow the ball, there are generally big guys flying at him. He has a responsibility to protect himself so I guess I shouldnt feel that bad.
