Well….  Ballard is paying Q.   And I suspect we move on from Kelly in a year, with Pinter starting in 23.

At this point, whatever happens ... happens.

I’m not gonna worry about it, i’ve invested enough already.

I’ll just see what the roster looks like week one, and go from there.

  This year was tiresome.

I wouldn’t disagree with a single word.  The off-season is about 45 days old and it’s already exhausting.   And I think it’s only going to get busier and crazier.

I grew tired of the “coach-speak” and “gm-speak” only to see crap on the field.

The Ballard talk doesn’t fly with me anymore, i need results.  I kinda lost some confidence  in him.

This where we part.   Both say what they can and are far more forthcoming than most of their peers.   There was more “speak” this year, but I’d simply point to extraordinary circumstances.   I may get there someday, but that time hasn’t come for me.

From time to time, I grow tired of Irsay’s outbursts, but he’s the owner and he gets to do what he wants.

Good luck.

I'll take better players, while we're at it.

Or….better play from the players we have. After re-watching some games, I realized the difference between a sack and a 50yard completion many times comes down to a split second. We were so close on many of these. We want to see double digit sacks consistently but perhaps that’s unrealistic.

Of the 13 years Mathis played, he recorded double digit sacks in only 5 of those years.

Of the 16 years Freeney played, in only 8 of those years did he record double digit sacks.

Maybe the players we have are capable of double digit sack years and just need to develop?

I cant remember the last time i was bothered by Irsay.  He doesnt go overboard.  We rarely hear from him.

I’m realizing now that Ballard talks un circles.  He says alot, while saying little.
Just curious how the QB position has been handled since Luck.  I see how we got here.  Its just frustrating we’re back in the same position.  Maybe worse at QB.  I’m not sure what options are out there.  I just wanna see the Effort.  FA and draft dont always work out, but QB should be priority one starting....... NOW.

Oh, and a backup plan for QB would probably be a good idea as well.

    • Something else to lock away in the brain.   Ballard got 4 players, while trading down and still getting Mitchell.   2.46 - **traded for #52, #142, #155   **2.52 - $1,219,297 - Adonai Mitchell, WR, Texas   **5.142 - $883,167 - Anthony Gould, WR, Oregon State    **5.155 - ****traded for #164, #201   ****5.164 - $869,254 - Jaylin Simpson, S, Auburn    ****6.201 -$838,489 - Micah Abraham, CB, Marshall      That trade down, then subsequent trade down again, allowed us to get who we were more than likely going to grab anyway(Mitchell). While also being able to throw 3 more darts, including a second WR, and 2 other guys that I think have a good chance of earning one of this last spots at CB, Safety.
    • Agree, I think Young has a pretty decent chance to stick.   We need multiple LBers that can cover. Hopefully Carlies and him both make the squad and help underneath and over the middle   Yeah he has a crazy build. FB would make some sense for him. Not sure if we will carry one of those or not?     I don't think Eric Johnson has a very good chance of keeping a roster spot.  To many guys there now.
    • Craig Young was an Ohio State recruit and transferred to Kansas  - both he and the new draftee Jaylon Carlies have a similar athletic profile with a 4.50ish 40, with 33 and 34 inch arms (respectfully) and both are 6'3" and 226ish......I think Craig Young has a chance as a back-up/teams guy if he shows out in camp. Stuard, McGrone and Olubi aren't exactly world beaters after all. Those measurements (BTW) are very much in the mold of the Okereke/Leonard/Speed size/length/speed ratios..........   Trent Pennix played RB/FB/TE at N.C. State - could we be incorporating an actual FB into the offense? He is only 6'1" and 234 pounds so very much NOT the mold of our typical tight ends?   Isaiah Coe did 34 bench reps and is a bit bigger...........if he proves stronger at the point of attack than Eric Johnson, he could earn a spot at the back end of the roster as well.   Outside of that I don't see anyone pushing for a roster spot.
    • Congrats to @Archer. This year was harsh for the contestants in the draft contest, but Archer's exact pick accompanied with him identifying him pre-draft as a potential LB conversion, is quite possibly the best call I've seen on this board on a prospect truly under the radar.    Truly well deserved win.    With that out of the way, I want to take a moment to thank @Dr. T for organizing and running one of the most fun activities on this board. I've been here for just the last 6-7 years, but this contest has turned into a highlight of the off-season for me. Hope everything is alright with our Dr. and he enjoys good retirement and I'm wishing good luck to @chad72. Big shoes to fill, no doubt he will continue the tradition in style.
    • Great job identifying Carlies. This is insane call on both the conversion and the pick. Huge props @Archer!!
