So, barring any signings over the next month, we're going into the draft with no major needs but plenty of positions that could be improved.  That, paired with Ballard being much better at finding talent than myself, makes this draft one of the most unpredictable in my recent memory.  Depending on who falls, I could see us going DE, DT, CB, S, WR, or even TE or RB in the first.  With that in mind, I have the first round going something like this:

Yes, I see Christain Wilkins falling to us.  Yes, I see the Titans going with Lawrence over Wilkins (he's a better fit at NT for their 3-4).  Yes, I see the Giants getting a QB in round 2 instead of round 1 (Daniel Jones).

 

1.  Christian Wilkins - DT Clemson

Great player, great character, team leader; everything you want in a first-round pick.

2.  Jonathan Abram - S Mississippi State

Gives us a great three-safety lineup.  This wouldn't be my pick, but I think it will be Ballard's.

2.  Deebo Samuel - WR South Carolina

Great short-intermediate option while TY and Funchess stretch the field.

3.  Joe Jackson - DE Miami

Strength to bull rush or set the edge.

4.  Germaine Pratt - OLB NC State

Converted free safety with plus coverage skills.  Needs to improve block shedding, but would be great in our swarming defense.

4.  Derwin Gray - OT Maryland

Can already pass block to protect the franchise, and Mudd can teach him how to run block.

5.  Saivion Smith - CB Alabama

Good size and not afraid to support the run.

6.  Kaden Smith - TE Stanford

I will never NOT trust a Stanford TE.

7.  Nate Herbig - OG Stanford

Run blocking specialist to come in on short-yardage plays.

 

That gives us a lineup something like:

Weird. I have a mock draft in my Notes section of my phone I’ve been creating and it looks almost identical to yours with the first couple picks. Wilkins, Abram, and Samuel I have in just about the same spots. I have a LB in the 4th although it’s a different player, and I had Kaden Smith. Great minds think alike!!!

Hopefully we've both glimpsed the future!

I'd be ecstatic with this draft. I'm not sure that Pratt would be a great fit at SAM, but his coverage ability would be a great asset. He seems more like a rotational chess piece than a base LB, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
