Afc Is Top Heavy?

2000: Ravens

2001:Pats

2002: Raiders

2003:Pats

2004:Pats

2005::steelers

2006:Colts

2007 Pats

2008 Steelers

2009 Colts

2010 Steelers

2011 Pats

Last 11 years 5 teams, meanwhile only the Giants have gone more than once for the NFC. (scary thing is 2003 on only 3 teams from the AFC) The AFC is VERY VERY top heavy.

It just shows consistency. The Pats, Steelers and Colts have had lots of continued success and it looks like teams like Houston will be joining them. In the NFC, the Saints weren't that great until they got Brees, Minny had one good season and then fell off, Atlanta is very inconsistent, etc.

I think it shows how much of a mess the NFC was. As if they had SB contestants picked at random by default that there had to be an NFC team. For several years I heard many people say the real SB is the Colts vs Pats playoff games.

In '03 and '04 and '06 IMO they were, I have NO DOUBT the colts would have won in 03 or 04 and I do not doubt the pats would have won in 06.

I think its just more the inconsistency of the teams in the NFC. I mean, the 7-9 Seahawks made the playoffs a few years ago lol
