Nobody's Hastily Thrown Together 2015 Mock (2.0?)

Recommended Posts

I know I'll get a lot of "he won't be there" comments. In the end I don't think I have anyone falling a ridiculous amount more than expected, and if they aren't there there are other options. I guess you could call this a "good fortune" mock.

1.29 Landon Collins- S Alabama

In my mind the only threats to taking Collins are Pittsburgh and Philly. It wouldn't surprise me if Collins was here, and I would expect him to be a Colt in that case. I'm not his biggest fan but he is decent in coverage and compliments Adams well, as he is great in run support. He's not Landry 2.0, as Landry wasn't even good against the run. Collins is better against the pass than Chancellor was coming out of Va Tech, so I would like this pick.

2.61 Henry Anderson- 34DE Stanford

Some would say a reach, but I think he's more than worth a late 2nd rounder. I'd trade down if possible but I don't do trades in mocks usually.

3.93 Jay Ajayi- RB Boise State

If he really does drop due to the knee issues (I'm skeptical, it hasn't been an issue since he injured it, and he was not asked to attend the Combine Medical Re-check) then he won't fall much further than this, IMO. He'd be a hell of a get here.

4.128 Paul Dawson- ILB TCU

Another guy who where he ends up is anyone's guess. Smallwood went undrafted for similar reasons last year, whereas Borland went in the second and thrived (until he up and left the game) If he is available here I think he'd be a good value pick.

5.165 Gerod Holliman- S Louisville

The kid has issues, that much is clear. But it looks to me like they are fixable. Yes, I am pairing a run support guy with questionable cover skills and a coverage guy with questionable(okay, bad) run support skills here. They are 21 and 20 years old, respectively, and I think they could develop into a great combination.

6.204 Terry Williams- NT ECU

I'd be willing to take the guy much higher than this, depending on the buzz from other GMs. He's a bowling ball out there, and my draft crush.

6.206 Trent Brown- OT Florida

Massive (6'8 355) blocker who needs to develop, but could end up being a serviceable RT. As with most guys his size, pass pro needs work.

7.244 Frank Clark- DE/OLB Michigan

A really underrated prospect IMO. He's got off the field issues but it's a 7th rounder, cut him if need be. He's an athletic freak with great pass rush productivity and is still good against the run. Give me that in the 7th all day. No idea where he's going, it wouldn't surprise me to see him go 3 rounders earlier, nor would it surprise me to see him go undrafted. But I'm leaning towards the latter.

7.255 Travis Raciti- 34DE SJSU

I'll level with you here, I don't know much about this guy, he's the only prospect on here I haven't watched. But you have to make a pick. He had a big sophomore year with 9 sacks, but dropped off a bit the next two years.

I reallllly like your bottom end. (Raciti, Clark, Williams, Brown)

But c'mon man. Holliman in the 5th? Dawson in the 4th? No way, your probably underestimating them both by 2 rounds.

This would be great if it were to happen, but I'm 99.9% sure it's not so it's hard to really get into it.

This is borderline brilliant....and is more realistic to me than most of the "realistic mocks" around here.  I say that not because it will happen, but because this is the kind of thing that does happen in a real draft.  2nd rounders going in the 3rd and 4th.  3rd and 4th rounders going in the second.  Holliman could easily go in the 5th or later given his issues.  It may violate a purists mock draft principles, but nothing you did violates what will actually happen on draft day if you change the names (you could change them to Nobody if you prefer)

Holliman in the 5th is not a stretch at all.  Dawson in the 4th may be a little late, but I could easily see scenarios where he falls to that pick.

Love the Collins and Ajayi pick. I would personally replace Holliman with James Sample.

Overall a solid mock and I would be reasonably satisfied if this happened.

Good job!

I expect Holliman to be there in the 5th actually.

I heavily considered taking Sample too. Collins (ITB safety) and Sample (all around) would be a poor man's Seahawks safeties. I think Sample goes higher than expected however and Holliman lower.

Aw shucks, I'm blushing. I completely understand what you're saying. Sure, not everyone goes where they belong but it's not like my whole mock is just 1st and 2nd round talents. Inevitably, the real draft will have perceived reaches and players who drop.

-I could talk myself into liking the Collins pick if it happens, but I'm not comfortable with his coverage abilities.

-Anderson would be a pretty decent pick.

-If Ajayi does indeed fall to our 3rd pick, I'd snatch him up in a heartbeat.

-I don't think Dawson even makes it to our 2nd pick honestly.

-Holliman's obvious deficiencies scare me but I'd be willing to take the risk in the 5th.

not familiar with the rest... started following the draft late this year

Frank Clark is rumored to be a guy the Seahawks are targeting in round 3.

Dayum. Well that would obviously screw up my mock haha

He's really good. Oh well, substitute in Orakpo's brother or some other project athletic pass rusher.

    • I’ll take heat for this and I honestly don’t care.  I’m nowhere near sold on Stroud.  He barely it 4k yards and his TD to INT ratio was stellar but they played absolutely no one!! They lost to the panthers.  They had one of the easiest schedules and finished 9-8.  For Christ sake we beat them once and very nearly beat them a second time with a back up.. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ #NotTop5.
    • This is probably one of the best things for this kid.  Pitt is a great dude.  Has a level head on his shoulders which, allegedly Mitchell does not and was why he fell.  I haven’t been more excited for a trio of wide receivers since Wayne/garcon/collie!!
    • This may be going a little off topic and is going to be a Gus Bradley/Chris Ballard/defensive staff rant… why the * is Cross the FS…. I know last year they didn’t trust him so they had to start Thomas and Blackmon who are both natural FS so they moved Blackmon to SS.     Now though why not let each guy play his natural position.. this staff constantly outthinks themselves and is infuriating…
    • It may be too soon to know for sure…. But I think Kelly’s replacement is Bortolini in 25.   I think Goncalves is the potential replacement for Fries and can fill in elsewhere in a pinch.   And my pure guess is that next April the Colts draft a RT and he is a backup for one year before taking over for Smith in 26.   Again, only a hunch.
    • He didn’t just laugh the got legit mad that the rumors keep coming up.
