Ozzie says Rice case effects approach to off-season moves

It's nice to have a change, even if it still involves Pats fans needing to state their dominance on a Colts board. :)

Don't worry, Ravens fans will always be there for you to point out Patriot hypocrisy when they get too high- fa- looting. The Patriot Way is a myth, and the team is plagued by many of the same personnel issues that the Ravens, Colts, and all the other teams face. I'm sure Kraft and Bisciotti strive to get high character guys, but no organization can fully protect itself from players going rogue. Ray rice was a pillar of the Ravens organization for five years, but then he drank a bottle of tequila one night, and the rest is history.

All teams have PED and drug guys, but also assault guys. You can try to protect yourself with research as much as you can, but you can't defend against stupid. Instead of always blaming the NFL, organization, owner , and coach , we need to put the blame on where it belongs, the rogue player, who is highly compensated , and expected to be a professional.

lol. The Patriot Way is not a myth, it is marketing. Kraft has branded the Pats that way to sell shirts and memorabilia. If you listen closely to Belichick, he never talks about brining in high character guys, he talks about bringing in guys whose number one passion in life is football. If guys are committed to football than there is less of a chance for off-field issues and also increases the chances of getting all you can get out of player contract wise. This is why Bill runs his org the way he does. Tight with no one giving any fodder to the media. Some guys can't handle that because they want to be themselves, see Welker, but in the end the Pats have it figured out FAR more than any other team with their run of success these past 15 years.

This will be an interesting off-season for the Ravens with no Rice and a new OC and Qb coach. More change that Ozzie has to navigate while upgrading your secondary and figuring out what he is going to with Joe's contract.

Not much cap room this year , and Joe's contract has to be dealt with next year. We can only hope he extends that contract.
