How Reliable/Realistic is Fanspeak?

I was just playing around with there Free Agency, and Draft Simulators and basically came out with my dream off-season. So I was wondering what you guys think of Fanspeak. How realistic are the contracts, and player ratings are? As my experiences have been decent with it, but want to know what the idea is around here.

It's about the same as being on a football forum where everyone thinks they can be a GM.

Not very at all.

 

Don't get me wrong,  they're great fun, and even a little addictive.

 

But the people who run these don't know proper draft values at all.   And their draft projections won't be close until about early April.

 

So,  all the draft projections now mean next to nothing.    And their trade values are always way off.   They're typically way to generous (too many good picks for very small movement)  and they happen way too often.   As if it's easy to make these kind of trades.    You can easily make 10-12 trades if that's what you want to do.   But when was the last time that happened in the real world?   That would be never!

 

So, enjoy them.   But don't put too much stock into them.   Because, if you do,  you're only setting yourself up for disappointment.

This isn't even fun to me. My favorite part about FA/Draft is the swirling rumors and reports. I let my mind have a field day with those situations than I share some of them with you all here.

It's good as a basis to get an idea of where guys will go. But it's unrealistic at times because they don't look at team needs and have a tendency to over or under value some prospects.

 

That said, it's the best one out and way better than First-pick.
