This is a big blow to the 49ers, the guy was a very good #2 running back behind Frank Gore...

LaMichael James has not been doing much the last two seasons...lets see if he can step up this year.

This actually makes the Carlos Hyde transition much easier. Hyde will be able to take more snaps now and he'll get better acclimated faster than he would have otherwise. It's a blessing in disguise. And with how good the defenses are in that div., they need a back like Hyde to keep them honest.

Gore probably has maybe 3-4 years at most left in him. It's remarkable how long he's lasted in this league thinking about how he's the real chain mover of that offense, and has been for years.
