I read that. His commencement speech sounded like a campaign speech. These are students that just spent at least 4 years in school, spending thousands of dollars. Many likely will have student loans. His speech has nothing to do with graduation. Even if he wanted to share his religious and political views, he could have also shared that his mother is a physicist who found time to be a mother too. Anyway...

FWIW: I think you’ll find it interesting that the school has found it necessary to put out a statement that while they support Butkers right to have his opinion, the school did not know what he was going to say. And they’re not really happy about it. Those who run the school said they were hoping for something more uplifting to their graduates. Something more along the lines of going out in the world to make it a better place for everyone, especially those less fortunate. To be clear, I’m paraphrasing from memory, not writing word for word. But that was the thrust of their statement. -

I don’t want Butker to be cut, punished, or slandered either. But you called this a Christian speech. I’m not sure I’d agree with that and I think it should be noted the Christians who run the college are NOT happy about it. They put out a statement saying they don’t share the views of Butker. That they didn’t know he was going to say what he did and they’re not exactly happy with his comments. They were hoping for something that celebrates the achievement of their graduates and encourages them to go out to make the world a better place for all especially the less fortunate. Again, this is from those who run the school. I was pretty impressed. -

Yeah, people trying to sign petitions to get rid of him from the Chiefs team are just as hypocrites as him and don't understand how the world works. Now, if they somehow turn all the Swifties on him like a Wolf Pack, NFL and Chiefs may consider replacing him because money is where they'd follow, not morals or someone's perceived morals. -

I have faith that AR will be good for a rookie. I think Shane is a great coach and definitely won’t be the problem. It’s just a tall order to win double digit games with an inexperienced QB coming off missing nearly the entire year and a young weak secondary. It’s totally possible bc I see 7-11 wins. We will need a lot to go right for double digit wins. Even if we only win 7-8 games, I would still find that really good and encouraging for our young QB. Any more will be over achieving and this roster seems capable.
