As we all did as both also my brother and brother in law, are fathers. And that we had BBQ, my father's favorite as he can eat that all the time, everytime LOL! But still, we had a great time and hope you enjoyed your Father's Day. For those that are dads, will be dads, still have their dads, or dads that have passed on.
I remember when this city was a basketball town. Before the Colts moved here it was all about Reggie Miller and the Pacers. It was all about the Indiana Hoosiers of college basketball. Fast forward now to the Jim Harbaugh era and the birth of the nickname "cardiac kids" for a franchise that had been mediocre at best for the majority of the time it was in Indy. Although that 1995 team lacked the flash and dash of teams filled with "superstar players," it was a team built with strong defense, a pu
Had a great and a safe trip here in Myrtle Beach. Hope that you all are doing well. As hope that life is treating you well for the summertime. Nephews and nieces are on vacation with the whole entire family!
With most of the other 31 teams in the NFL keeping the course of the "copycat" with them all trying to mimic the aerial attacks of today's most prolific passing offenses, coach Pagano (and a small list of others) still believes in using the basic fundamentals of success used in the past: "Running the ball and stopping the run." Many would call it "old school," but if we look at the history of SB winners, that term would hardly fit the bill. With teams like the Patriots, Broncos, and Saints all b
Hope that you all have a safe and a great Memorial Day! Remembering those that were and are and will be in the line of duty and call of it. As they sacrifice for both me and you. Our brave and selfless men and women in uniform. Have a safe and blessed one!
There has been a lot of speculation on what the 2013 Luck led Colts offense will look like this year. With Bruce Arians in Arizona now fresh off his coach of the year campaign, blue nation has been wondering what his replacement will bring to the boys in blue on offense. New OC Pep Hamilton ran one of the most dynamic schemes as Stanford's head coach last year, as did the man he replaced there in Jim Harbaugh the year before he left Stanford. Under Bruce Arians, the Colts featured the long ball
Hope those of you that are mothers or will be mothers, or have moms that are living or that have moms that have gone on before you all. Have a blessed and a great Mother's Day 2013. Hope that you got to get a day off if it is your special day. Blessings of hope and peace!
Mother's Day is a celebration honoring mothers and motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. Mom's rock! Thanks to all who have a maternal influence on the world! This includes anyone who nurtures anyone or anything because for me, that is what mothers do And it makes the world a better place So thanks to all MOMS!
If you haven't read the story on Colts rookie O-lineman Hugh Thornton, you should make your way on over to Indystar.com and read the front page article on him and his journey to the NFL: http://www.indystar.com/article/20130509/SPORTS03/305090081/Colts-rookie-overcomes-murder-mother-sister-reach-NFL When the Colts initially made this pick, I really didn't get into researching his stats or anything right off the bat. I was looking at the corner back position and researching the free agent DB pick
I think at Mr, Erasy helping a bar on the north side of Indianapolis only helps the bar owner. NOT the people of Indianapolis. The bar was going under because of the hard times that are still upon most of us in the city. I can't go out and spend money at a bar let a lone one on the north side of the city. The north side 96 st. and up are all about the elitist 1% of the city. Most people do not have money to go to bar's, most people are barely getting by and paying their bill's. They don't have
I havent attended many NFL Colts football games in my life, actually only 5 in total. One long ago in Baltimore(as the Colts) vs the Bengals, one in Baltimore vs the Ravens, two in Washington vs the Skins and one in Indy vs the Bears. But that doesnt tell the whole story. I watch this team on a daily basis grow, make changes, adapt, work hard, grinding it out all with the purpose of winning a championship. And they do it with integrity, high energy fun loving spirit. But it hasnt always been this
The great escape, that is what I like to refer to the NFL as.. I am a die hard Colts fan through and through, I practically bleed blue.. I also have a debilitating illness. 75 percent of my day is spent in pain or some form of agony.. I recently filed for disability and was told that I act entirely to pleasant to be in the sort of pain I describe.. So much so in fact I was denied disability at my first hearing.. I have always turned my heart to God and football. These things keep me sane.
Does anyone else agree with me when I say it would be nice to see the Colts in some redefined new jersey... Still love the originals, but some new fits would be nice... GO COLTS!!!
I must say I am really impressed with this years addition to the colts roster. Although a solid cornerback in this year's draft could have been icing on the cake, i still believe we will come out strong this season. The front seven on the defensive side of the ball is now stronger than ever and with perfect timing since this year's schedule will be very tough. The colts are always under the radar, especially last season. I cant wait to see this season and how it plays out. GO COLTS!!!!!!
Colts got rid of Jerry Hughes in a usually rare player for player trade, I thought he improved quite a bit last year.....With the addition of Werner he becomes expendable, I thought it was funny NFL.com was saying Bills got a explosive situational pass rusher and the Colts got more size. Sheppard is 6-2 244 and Hughes is 6-2 254 Sheppard is technically smaller, but either way I think it is a great trade. Werner will get his snaps and Sheppard will get his, I think he fits in this defense a l
If you were grading the Colts draft picks, what grade would you give them. As I would at least give them a B+! That Werner hopefully will be great for many more years to come. As youth counts and that will hopefully equal experience! Give me you all's grades!

#1. Bjoern Werner-DE/OLB-FSU-6'4-275-4.7 Born in Germany, has only played football for 5 years and his upside in unlimited. All -American, was 2nd in the nation with 13 sacks, was predicted to go as high as #2-overall, before a slow 40 time at the combines dropped his stock ( Trying to stop laughing-the good teams just sit back and wait for the "other" teams to screw up and take advantage-I love it!!) Has been compared to Chris Long . Oustanding player and production, who as great as he already
Bjoern Werner, DE from Florida State He's as fundamentally sound as any player in this draft and should start from Day One. Werner should be drafted no later than the top 10. — Jimmy O'Brien, Optimum Scouting This kid will be special, he's very football smart and has natural ability. You will find him in the right place most of the time, and he has the ability to recover quickly causing impactful plays.
This has to be the most disappointing draft in the history of my Indianapolis colts, first round pick was not what we needed, has anyone noticed that we can only shut down one side of the field because we only have one LD corner? We need a LOCKDOWN corner not another defensive end. I understand we parted ways with freeney because we need to think about the future but the front seven doesnt matter if we cant stop the pass. Laron Landry was a solid free agent signing along with heyward-bay but im
It's LeBron being LeBron. I have never been a fan of his for many reasons. He looks like a decent family man and takes great care of his kids + has never been in trouble with the law so I respect him for that - he is also a Great Basketball player, best today. Having said that his ego is outrageous, he left Cleveland in his prime because he couldn't win a Championship. Peyton Manning for example never thought about leaving Indy because he couldn't win for years against the Pats and Steelers in
Yes, that is a fair point some individuals just like to stir the pot & cause controversy & mayhem simply because their life has not turned out as well as they wish it had. Like it's somebody's else's fault that they don't make enough money or have a pretty girlfriend or any girlfriend for that matter.
Look, I'm not trying to minimize any fatality white, black, male, or female & I know that being a police officer is not an easy job. I get that. I just wanna get to an atmo
I am getting ready to get off work so I will have to respond to your Post tomorrow in more detail but all great points. Racism will probably never go away unfortunately as there are just people in this world that are ignorant and violent. I am not sure how anyone can solve some of the violence talking place. It just seems to get worse and worse with groups of people getting shot in night clubs, theaters, etc. for no reason. White cops aren't doing themselves any favors either by shooting unarmed
Thank you CBE for your response to my blog entry. I know how busy peoples daily lives are so I am grateful for feedback & different points of view on this subject matter.
Max Kellerman on ESPN 'First Take' has made the intriguing argument that in America anyway the Natl. Anthem standing up during it is a mandatory gesture of compliance as opposed to a voluntary one where dissent is frowned upon & even called out publicly if you refuse to stand up while the Star Spangled Bann
Here's my short take on Colin and what is going on: I have no problem with people protesting about something they believe in or serious matters like racism, that is everyone's right to do so. Where I have the problem is dissing the American flag. It doesn't accomplish anything and it really gets many people to dislike you and question why you are doing that. To me it's dissing the Military and the USA when you don't acknowledge the flag. All you are doing is drawing negative attention to yoursel
I hope you're hanging in there brother as well as can be expected given such heart wrenching circumstances. Miss you man. I'm here if you need me. God bless, my friend.
YSGC,
Thank you for being brave enough to share such personal information about the loss of your beloved father. That took a tremendous amount of courage on your part.
Naturally, that void in your life will never be filled of course, but this line made me smile:
"He insisted we bury him in his Colts gear" Awesome!
When are people going to realize that the offensive line talent in last year's draft, outside of La'ell Collins, just wasn't that good? Sure we could've used a couple of picks on some mediocre o-line talent, and people would be right here, with their 20/20 hindsight, saying that they were terrible picks, and that Grigson should be fired.
Instead, we took a WR. People didn't like the pick, as the Colts allegedly were already "stacked at WR." Well, fast forward to this year: Johnson is
