Hope you all had a great Valentines! And hope it was really blessed. For those of you that are married, dating, or engaged. And for those that just treat it like another day. Hope that you all had a great and a safe Valentines my friends!
It's year 2 of the new era, hard to really know how the new leaders will go about the approach of (continuing) building the monster. The results in year #1, surpassed reasonable expectations, with the wholesale changes and extremly young talent, a playoff game wasn't the norm, what I saw this year, was a team that had some talent, some depth, that bought into to Pagano's blueprint on what it takes to win in the NFL, had some quality coaches who stepped up and kept that going and G.M who has a v
2012 Season has come and gone! As now it is the off season. But the blogs here stay. As for JPPT1974 blogs, there is NO off season at all! As hopefully these blogs which have more to that than just football and about the GAME OF LIFE will tie you all down until the NFL season begins! So no off season here for these blogs. Thought that I might tell you all!
DB- At cornerback, there was strength in numbers, Powers is solid, but hasn't taken his game up a notch-consistently, Davis played well, he has the skill set to be an elite CB, but......Butler was very impressive, when given a chance, Vaughn, is decent and Gordy adds quality depth At safety Bethea, as always, is a very good and under-appreciated player, Zbikowski, had some good games, but I expected more from a guy who has played in this defense before, Lefeged, is a quality backup and one of th
Congrats to the Ravens for winning SB 47 as well as congrats to the 49ers. For such a great year. As the Harbaugh brothers bowl gave us drama and really a heart beating Super Bowl. Despite thirty minutes of blackouts in Louisana! Calling it the Super Bowl Blackout! But still, such a great Super Bowl! Hopefully Colts will get it next year!
111-130M Are expected to watch Sunday's game and maybe even more than that. While nearly 200M won't watch the game. As most are probably kids and most do not either care about the game or did not have a team go in there.
DL: a position I viewed as a weakness or at the very least, unpredictable, before the season, played better than I expected, but far from dominant. There are no elite players, as of yet, although some of the young guys, could be........in time. Johnson, added weight and played in the middle, Moala and Redding were the primary ends, Mathews got lots of reps and the rest were mainly, guys off the street next year-there is hope, most of the talent didn't play much or at all, Nevis had a very good r
It is Super Bowl Week. As we will see AFC Champs, Baltimore Ravens vs NFC Champs, San Francisco 49ers for Super Bowl 47 Lombardi Trophy! Redy for this, hope that you all are!
Nobody likes to be condescended to. Being on the receiving end of patronizing and belittling comments is annoying and frustrating and can be a cause of conflict between members here on the forums. Technically this is not against the rules but, if it is persistent and causes ongoing issues then moderation may have to step in. However, we think it's important that the people posting make every effort to resolve their own conflicts. Some things to think about......... (1) Am I condescending? (Do yo
With Bruce Arians leaving to take the head coaching position for the Arizona Cardinals the Colts have brought in Stanford offensive coordinator, Pep Hamilton, to fill the open OC spot. Obviously, Hamilton comes in bringing past experience running his own version of a West Coast style offense that he ran with Andrew Luck during his time at Stanford. While Hamilton's style is most certainly a very different philosophy from that of Arians, it will be a familiar one for Luck. The signature offensive
T- Castonza had a solid season, not sure if he will ever make elite...Justice was decent, Linkenbach is adequate-short term G- Reitz, missed more time than he played, is solid when healthy, McGlynn is adequate, Linkenbach is more capable, inside C- Satale missed quite a few games, Shipley filled in , more than adequatly next year: I think this is the only and most dire hole on the team and needs a major upgrade, there are no front line players and only 1 that can even be viewed as having that po
WR- Reggie, who has been consistently productive over his entire career, took his game to another level, Avery had a productive season, Hilton surprised (me) I was expecting more of a role player, Collie, just can't shake the injury bug, Brazill had some nice catches next year: At some point Reggie will slow down (33) he currently ranks #10 all-time in receptions and #14, in yards and should end up next year around 7th, in each category, Hilton was the most productive rookie WR in the league and
He really does not as he sat on the sidelines in 2011. And that he really revived his career. And that despite a dream season that ended badly. He really has nothing at all to be ashamed of. Congrats Peyton as you deserve NFL 2012 Comeback Player of the Year!
Wow, what a difference a year makes....... Remember last January when Rob Lowe sparked internet mayhem by tweeting that Peyton Manning was going to retire? Almost a year to the day, Rob Lowe will appear with Andrew Luck, Reggie Wayne and Jim Irsay on an episode of Parks and Recreation. This is Mac's chance to watch the show. I seem to recall he never heard of it.
Well folks, it's been officially over for the Colts for a week now and they have moved into off-season mode. I wish the Colts organization the best of luck this coming year and next football season. I want to add something else.. The Colts were Champions this year to Indianapolis and it's fans. And above all others, for Chuck. The team were champions in Chucks eyes! Re-building. CHUCK YOU ARE OUR CHAMPION!!
As anyone who has read my blogs has figured out, I tend to view things completly different than most..... I think one of the things that alianated many fans against Polian was his decision to rest players and not go for the perfect season, I don't know- for sure-what I would have done given the option, I am leaning towards, the same decision he made, his record speaks for itself, there is not another G.M. who can equal his success over his career and who I am to question that anyways, back to th
Colts may be out but still, it will be a great weekend. At least Peyton is playing in the games. Or one of them. As we may see him and Brady once again before all is said and done!
QB-What can be said about Andrew Luck, that hasn't been said.........he came into this league with maybe more hype than any other QB and exceded expectations..........the guy's game is flawless, he is already one of the leagues better QB's and how great he will be, will be fun to watch The only thing we know about the backups is, they looked very good in pre season and the only way we will really find out is if Luck gets hurt next year- Luck will have experience-look out!! Stanton is a free ag
Hey everyone, I am back with my Pre-Combine and Draft Bowls (Senior Bowl, East-West Shrine Game, etc.) Mock/FA!! I am going to start off with Free Agency. We have many needs this year, but none is bigger than our O-Line. We need to keep Luck upright next season because I don't know if he can take as many hits as last season. OG's Andy Levitre and Louis Vasquez: Levitre and Vasquez are, in my opinion, the two best Offensive Guards hitting Free Agency this offseason. They are both still young play
It's LeBron being LeBron. I have never been a fan of his for many reasons. He looks like a decent family man and takes great care of his kids + has never been in trouble with the law so I respect him for that - he is also a Great Basketball player, best today. Having said that his ego is outrageous, he left Cleveland in his prime because he couldn't win a Championship. Peyton Manning for example never thought about leaving Indy because he couldn't win for years against the Pats and Steelers in
Yes, that is a fair point some individuals just like to stir the pot & cause controversy & mayhem simply because their life has not turned out as well as they wish it had. Like it's somebody's else's fault that they don't make enough money or have a pretty girlfriend or any girlfriend for that matter.
Look, I'm not trying to minimize any fatality white, black, male, or female & I know that being a police officer is not an easy job. I get that. I just wanna get to an atmo
I am getting ready to get off work so I will have to respond to your Post tomorrow in more detail but all great points. Racism will probably never go away unfortunately as there are just people in this world that are ignorant and violent. I am not sure how anyone can solve some of the violence talking place. It just seems to get worse and worse with groups of people getting shot in night clubs, theaters, etc. for no reason. White cops aren't doing themselves any favors either by shooting unarmed
Thank you CBE for your response to my blog entry. I know how busy peoples daily lives are so I am grateful for feedback & different points of view on this subject matter.
Max Kellerman on ESPN 'First Take' has made the intriguing argument that in America anyway the Natl. Anthem standing up during it is a mandatory gesture of compliance as opposed to a voluntary one where dissent is frowned upon & even called out publicly if you refuse to stand up while the Star Spangled Bann
Here's my short take on Colin and what is going on: I have no problem with people protesting about something they believe in or serious matters like racism, that is everyone's right to do so. Where I have the problem is dissing the American flag. It doesn't accomplish anything and it really gets many people to dislike you and question why you are doing that. To me it's dissing the Military and the USA when you don't acknowledge the flag. All you are doing is drawing negative attention to yoursel
I hope you're hanging in there brother as well as can be expected given such heart wrenching circumstances. Miss you man. I'm here if you need me. God bless, my friend.
YSGC,
Thank you for being brave enough to share such personal information about the loss of your beloved father. That took a tremendous amount of courage on your part.
Naturally, that void in your life will never be filled of course, but this line made me smile:
"He insisted we bury him in his Colts gear" Awesome!
When are people going to realize that the offensive line talent in last year's draft, outside of La'ell Collins, just wasn't that good? Sure we could've used a couple of picks on some mediocre o-line talent, and people would be right here, with their 20/20 hindsight, saying that they were terrible picks, and that Grigson should be fired.
Instead, we took a WR. People didn't like the pick, as the Colts allegedly were already "stacked at WR." Well, fast forward to this year: Johnson is
