Colts Sign TE Dominique Jones to Roster, TE Cunningham to PS

The Colts signed TE/FB Dominique Jones to the 53-man roster and place TE Justice Cunningham on the Practice Squad. The Colts now have four tight ends (Fleener, Allen, Jones, Doyle) on the 53-man roster heading into the season opener. Dominique Jones was on the actice roster last year heading into the season opener against the Bears. Dominique Jones finished the 2012 Season on the Practice Squad. The Colts had three tight ends on the roster at the end of the season, Allen, Fleener, and Saunders.

Colts Trade LB Caesar Rayford to Cowboys (WHY?)

This might go down as one of the worst moves by Grigson. He doesn't make a lot of foolish moves so this is one of the worst. Grigson sent Rayford to the Cowboys for a conditional draft pick. Now let's say what all Rayford did for us when he was a Colt. Rayford had 11 tackles, 5 sacks, and two forced fumbles. I am also certain that the draft pick that we get will not perform as well as Rayford in preseason or have that incredible size. Maybe it will, and be even better, hopefully. Caesar Rayford

The almost final 53 man roster-surprises?

There really weren't too many surprises on the almost final 53 man roster. There was only 1 player that I thought would make the roster, that didn't, that was Drake Nevis, that would qualify as a major suprise in my opinion and to take it a step further, I thought he was the best linemen we had....Redding, Jean-Francois and Moala are good players, but none of them would be considered elite, Mathews, like Nevis are younger and have improved each year, from what I have heard and saw, I was expecti

Awards Colts' Players Will Win This Year & Pro Bowl Selections

I see a lot of people projecting the awards and pro bowl selections for a team so I decided to do one. Here's my list (bolding the names of Colts, but I will also do the rest of the league: MVP: QB Tim Tebow...... just kidding QB Drew Brees Drew Brees has a great shot at winning the MVP. He has over 5,000 passing yards back-to-back seasons and leads the league in touchdown passes in 2012. Peyton Manning has a shot at winning it if Brees doesn't get the Saints into the playoffs. If he fails to, i

Colts vs Browns Review & What We Learned

Another great preseason win by our Colts, who beat the Browns 27-6. It's not only offense that has been impressing recently, but our defense as well, even the backup defense. Our first team have been outplaying the other team's first team as well. Even against the Bills we held the lead and looked pretty good on defense when we had our starters out there. Our first teamers this week allowed no points at all and a turnover. Greg Toler is looking really good. He had an interception against the Gia

Should the Colts Sign CB Richard Mashall?

Yesterday the Miami Dolphins released CB Richard Marshall after an injury-plagued season in which he only started four games. But he was decent prior to that injury. He had one interception last year with the Dolphins but has 18 in his career at 28 years old. Darrelle Revis has only one more interception than Marshall but Revis has also played less seasons, but they are both 28. Marshall could be a good pickup for the Colts if he doesn't want a big contract. A one year, 1 million dollar contract

Yeah, Luck is Good. Yet Colts Will Still Need a Solid Running Game to Beat the Elite Teams.

Game two is now in the books for the horseshoes and the glowing accolades for Andrew Luck are still coming in. Bob Kravitz even wrote an article called: "Keep your power running game. "Give me Andrew Luck throwing the ball." While Luck looked good on national TV vs the Giants, the much ballyhooed running game didn't. A lot of Colts fans share Kravitz' opinion given the fact that Luck definitely satisfies the those who still suffer from the "Manning" hangover and since Luck reminds so many of us

Von Miller vs Colts

As a lot of you know, Von Miller is facing a suspension for drug abuse. The bad news is the suspension doesn't cover the Colts vs. Broncos game on Sunday Night. Von Miller faces a six-game suspension. The Colts vs. Broncos game comes in Week 7. Too bad be couldn't have been suspended one game longer. Von Miller is a dangerous pass rusher and can cause havoc against our offensive tackles. Let's hope he isn't exactly "use" to playing in a game at that point because he wouldn't have done it for nea

Does winning (or losing) in the pre season really matter? answer included

I am not sure why, but I seem to see everything different than alot of fans, does anyone really care if we win a pre season game? I know the goal is to win, every game you play, but really it means nothing....whether you win or lose a pre season game, there are many reasons for that, such as there are 90 players on the roster and only 53 of them will be on the active roster when the season starts, so that means 37 of these players won't be wearing a horseshoe come opening day, does anyone expect

Colts at Giants Review & What We Learned

That was a whole lot better than last week. The Colts all around improved and showed a pretty good showing of what they are capable of beating the New York Giants 20-12. When I first starting watching it (since it was on Sunday Night Football), I was getting worried with our defense and offense. The first drive for the Giants went inside the red zone thanks to a defensive pass interference call. The Colts were able to stop them on 4th down. But when the Colts got the ball, two straight runs by B

Colts at Giants Preview

The Colts are coming off a tough and overpowering loss to the Buffalo Bills. The starters performed well, but the backups need to improve in Sunday's game against the Giants. The backups did have a good thing from that though, we learned more about the players that we signed over the off season such as Caesar Rayford, Allen Chapman, Daxton Swanson, and a returning Colt from last November, Delano Howell. Howell had 10+ tackles last week and Rayford has a strip sack that Swanson picked up for a 72

Are the Colts Eventually Going to Adopt the Option Offense?

I know this is very unlikely but I'm bored so I'm going to talk about it anyways. Not too many teams used the read option two years ago but the usage of read option is increasing. Last year, there were over 500 read option plays used. Now, the majority of those plays came from the Panthers, Redskins, 49ers, and Seahawks. Philadelphia this year is going into the Chip Kelly Offense which is a version of the option offense. All five of those teams have some of the fastest quarterbacks in the l

Can Reggie "catch" Jerry Rice's marks?

I did a blog a few years back about Marvin Harrisons' chances of catching Jerry Rice's career marks, needless to say, Harrisons' career came to a screaching halt. What are Reggie's chances ? I doubt he will make a run for Rice's records, but...... The top 5 career leaders in yardage: 1. Rice-22,895 (41) 2. Terrell Owens-15,934 (37) 3. Randy Moss-15,292 (32) 4. Issac Bruce-15,208 (36) 5. Tim Brown-14,934 (36) 14. Reggie-13,063 Reggie is 9,832 yards behind Rice, that's a pretty good chunk for a 34

Pre-Season 2013 is Here!

Pre-season is here. And despite the thrashing at the hands of the Bills. Be happy that it was not a game that counted. Pre-season is here so that players who have not been drafted can win a spot or be put on the practice squad. It does matter to them despite not mattering to us fans or other players that have a guaranteed lock on their jobs!

Where Do Colt players Rank Among the NFL (QB)

Ok, so I am really bored and I have to wait until Sunday to watch the Colts so I decided to make up my list of the top players in the league by position: QB, HB, FB, WR, TE, OT, OG, OC, DE, DT, OLB, MLB, CB, S, K, P, RS, LS. I know many people have already done lists like this but I'm bored so I thought I make my own lists up. I will list it numbers 1-40 of the starters at each position from every team. So every team gets listed but some teams may have more than one player listed but every team

T.Y. Hilton possibly the Next Marvin Harrison

This is probably way too early on in his career to debate if he is Marvin Harrison caliber. But, I think T.Y. definitely has that potential. T.Y. is a lot smaller than Marvin. Hilton is 5' 9'' 178lb while Harrison was 6 feet 185lb. Hilton will probably catch up to him in weight but he will not grow three inches. I know T.Y. had a lot of drops last year and was tied for worst in the league with Avery for drop rate. But if he can minimize his drops, we got a talented receiver. Even with the drops
