Nnamdi Asomugha could be cut

Recommended Posts

I would have loved having him on the Colts...a few years ago. Hes getting paid out the butt to do very little for the Eagles. The Colts arent gonna have Freeney next year because of his age and salary so why would they pick up a bedly preforming CB in the same boat?

Andy Reid will definitely lose his job if he did that. This would be a dumb move because 1) they wont get much for it and 2) you dont make a statement by cutting a key marquee underachieving player

Bench Asomugha, that might work better.

They need a different defensive coaching staff, and different OC. Maybe they need a pocket passer for QB as opposed to the uncertainty with Vick, that might cure more ills, IMO.

    • I don't understand the original post, lol.  I don't think Ballard screwed anything up.  I also don't think it was on him to keep Pagano, imo.  Apparently, no one knew the extent of Luck's shoulder.  I seriously doubt any coach would come in with this young, injury decimated team without their starting QB and expect to do much.  Not saying that Pagano needs to stay.  I personally he's surpassed his time here and the longer he stays the worse the locker room may get.  It seems like the team just has no fight in them, contrary to what he says.  I saw several players attempt to soft tackle, walking around on the field, little effort.     Next year pending on if Luck gets healthy, Colts are likely poised to have high draft picks.  Ballard will most likely bring in his own coaching staff unless Irsay wants to keep Pagano and co around for some reason.  Unfortunately this was supposed to be a rebuild year but just due to the injuries, lack of experience it makes it very difficult.
    • Idk if you actually watched the play but hooker got targeted directly at his needs on the Sideline when the guy could've went way higher..he threw himself toward hookers knees and he didn't even have time to brace because it was a blind side hit and you're gonna blame him for getting injured?
    • Wonder if we could fire Ted right now at least.   Maybe Chuck could call the D or something.   Get us back to playing that Rex Ryan style like we used to play. I'm just thinking out loud I guess.  Just reaching for something.  Anything
    • Not anyone we have (except maybe Schottenheimer) and no one would want to come here. We have to let this train through hell get all the way through and wait and see who Ballard prefers at HC.
    •   You're partially correct. Some of what I am saying (and have said) does walk the line of politics. However, while it might be easy to lump everything together; it does not all fit in the same box.    A lot of what I am talking about is a deep emotional connection to a football team.   I am trying very hard to walk the line about what is acceptable to discuss on this forum, and the waters can get very muddy. I do believe my statements holds true. Ignoring a lot of things happening lately won't fix anything. A person has to take action, within the confinements of the rules, and also within the parameters of moral values.   I believe the same can be said for political reasons or for undesired results of the product on the field. In my mind, the product on the field is not a reason for scaling back emotional investment. However, the politics obviously hit a different nerve for some of us. Not everyone will agree on these issues. It is also very tough to balance them once we understand a persons position.   Nevertheless, actions through participation or lack of participation speak very loud. it is a bottom line business, and it takes both active fans and talented players for the marriage to work.
