So lets say we do acquire Mike Jenkins from the Cowboys.............

We have Veterans Powers (draftee), Thomas (draftee), Rucker (draftee), Johnson, King and Vaughn (acquired via trade) to go along with the udfa's Fenelus, Chism, Jackson and Pellerin..........

They say they want competition but does anyone REALLY think that it wouldn't be Jenkins, Powers, Thomas, Rucker, Vaughn and 1 UDFA from Johnson, King, Fenelus, Chism, Jaackson and Pellerin?

I know this is premature because we haven't ACTUALLY acquired Jenkins yet, but, you gotta think Vaughn will make the team just because he was traded for plus the others were draftees?

Who makes the final spot, maybe two as a swing man between CB and FS????

Jenkins is not worth a 2 IMO, since it's likely to be high, so we probably won't get him. Powers, Thomas, Rucker and Vaughn, may turn out better than people think with the new coaching. Nowhere to go but up with that group.

Rucker is still listed as a CB as Gavin says but he has gained weight and hopefully strength. He is now listed as 6-1 and 209. Thats 14 lbs heavier than last year. Last year the thought was to move him to safety so we will see. Pellerin is listed as a safety though he mostly played CB in college. He did play SS and FS in a few games but mostly CB. Looking at film Chism seems to be the best tackler but looks too small to play safety. Fenelus looked on tape to be the better coverage CB but is short. Fenelus' 35.5v might be able to make up for his 5-8 to 5-9 estimated height.

The Cowboys will come down in asking price the longer this stretches out. They announced they were interested in trading him during the draft...........probably didn't get as many bites as they thought............and are 'publicly' stating they are not trading him now just to see if there is anymore interest other than the Colts.

Its a ploy to try and drive up the price. He will be a Colts by the time TC arrives!

I could see Rucker taking over as the first guy off the bench as the back-up to Bethea and/or Zbikowski at safety. He could add versatality in that he can drop down and cover the slot or a tightend on the strong side.............sounds intriguing actually, much like sliding pellerin back to FS I would think?
