With Manning gone, I think it means that we could keep one of our star free agent receivers. Problem is, none of them want to stay. Make the offer attractive.

Yeah but what stars do we have to resign?

Wayne is good but he's on the plus side of 30 and it would be foolish to give him a big deal.

Garcon is a solid #2 receiver but he wants #1 money based on the report of turning down the offer. Absolutely not worth it.

Saturday is way too old to be given anything more than a cheap 1 year deal.

Really the only semi-expensive FA we had worth keeping was resigned (Mathis).

If anything we need to go after another team's FA who fits the mold going forward.

Well I was sure wrong. Okay cap guys your moment to shine with all these moves where does it leave us with the cap this year and going forward and go ahead and factor in Freeney being gone too because it looks like that is going to happen too.

I'm actually kind of sad about this. I've been saying for months that it would happen (and longer than that with Brackett, from the day he signed that contract which was about $10 million higher than it should have been), but it does kind of hurt to see it happen.

Current reports are that the team is actually looking for offers to trade Freeney. I don't get why they wouldn't trade everyone else, even if it's for a late round draft pick. It's better than releasing them and getting nothing in return.

Freeney will get an extension on his contract. If we cut him it will be 14 mil in dead money against this years cap.
