Yeah. Well, he was undrafted FA who has turned himself into an All-pro and pro-bowler. At least on work ethic, he seems to be hitting the mark.

Knowing this makes me want him in a colts uniform even more.  Brings to mind another UDFA o-lineman we had for a number of years, that worked out pretty well.  Hint:  He knew the back of Peyton’s hand like the back of his own hand:thmup:

He seems like the Chris Ballard prototype for a big FA signing.

I agree he will probably be targeted. I expect Ballard to have to make a few changes especially with the offense and defense likely to see significant coaching changes. Personnel will obviously have to change up. I'd expect some guys like these that may be familiar with these systems to at least be targeted or possible guys we discuss bringing in.

ILB Hitchens

CB Butler

T Fleming/Waddle (depth)

WR Amendola

RB Lewis

RB Blount

Norwell will likely be a big name we target....we've been talking about Allen Robinson to play opposite TY but with McDaniels coming in it seems they prefer the smaller/shiftier/value quickness more than speed. If we went big name that might lend more to Landry...but there are a lot of interesting players out there...who knows maybe a smaller name like Taylor Gabriel or someone Ballard is familiar with like Albert Wilson or De'anthony Thomas. Having some of those familiar guys in camp that we can trust to "do your job" will allow us to be aggressive in the draft and not feel cornered to reach on a position of need. Lots of time but free agency will be interesting this year for sure.

Reading the interview with Chris Ballard just solidified my confidence in him to take this team forward.  The man works tirelessly and also works closely with his scouting staff.  I just feel like he is a real football man and knows what will be successful for the long term.  He's not just going to plug holes with short term big money FA players.

He wants a unified locker room, players who work hard and competition at every position.  He's creating a work ethic and desire in his players to succeed.

Our future is very bright!!

    • Matt Goncalves seems to be 71:
    • Homer uses it all the time when someone is acting like a jerk in the Simpsons, but he uses the cuss word at the end  .
    • Seems like they have given them the numbers but have not announced them. No idea why that is...    Laulu gets 57...
    • Moses didn’t part the * Red Sea the way we parted our defense anytime someone drove the lane last night. Out of respect for soft butter, I won’t even call our defense butter soft. It wasn’t even melted butter. It was barely even defense.    And then there’s carlisle after the game trying to dump this one on the refs, too. Get * real, you clown. You treat defense like you’re deathly allergic to it, and you absolutely cannot wait to extinguish the hot hand on the bench late in games. He’s doing just as much, if not more, to * block us from winning as the Knicks and the refs in this series.    We saw in the Bucks series that we can play some good defense and bother shooters. That we can stay in front of guys and actually impede them if they want to go to the basket. Last night they were chasing the ball around like dogs playing fetch, and just escorted guys to the basket any time they wanted to go. Way too many shots went up only being contested half-heartedly, if at all.   We just % both sides of the bed last night. Last night was the embarrassing defense the league has made fun of us for all season. TJ was giving more effort than 2 of the others on the floor combined, and he goes into witness protection in the second half of the 4th, never to be seen again.    There’s no room for error left now.
