Sad to hear this, I had heard he was in failing health. Truly a legend in West Lafayette, completely re-energized the Purdue football program and coached some of the greats, including Drew Brees. Boiler Nation is definitely mourning his loss!!!!!!!

I was surprised and saddened to read this. 74 does seem too young to die nowadays. I followed Purdue when Brees and Kyle Orton quarterbacked there. Tiller had a a good program going. Sad. My condolences, Gozer.

He was a great man. Lived (before moving to Wyoming)just a half block from one of our firehouses, in a modest middle class neighborhood. Shopped at the Marsh just across the street from station, and went to church just around the corner. He really was an average Joe, but with an above average football IQ. Wonderful man!
