Broncos Release Montee Ball

Not a big shock...He held on when the roster was posted at 53 but Denver picked up a tight end off waivers

and cut Ball.

...He just seemed a step slow and too often was hurt...

Interesting to see if the Colts call him

Ever hate a guy as a prospect but not want to be right? That's how I felt about Ball. At least it helped me avoid drafting him early in fantasy last year.

Meh, Not impressed by Ball. I would pass. 

 

-He don't have breakaway speed.

-He does have good balance.

-He does not break a lot of tackles

-He is not very elusive

-He does have a nice spin move

 

I think the workload he had in college hampered him some in the NFL. Best used in a zone scheme

Previous highly drafted RBs are on the move this year. 2nd round pick Christine Michael to the Cowboys for a conditional 7th. Former 3rd round pick Terrance West to the Titans for a conditional 7th. Now Montee Ball a former 2nd round pick gets waived. Shows the value of the running back position now days.

The difference is, West and Michael actually have talent...just aren't high on attitude or being part of the team...Ball has very limited talent, but is happy to be in the league...well, he was...

Ball wasn't really good. Pretty much the definition of a JAG. Great at nothing, but not terrible overall.
