You're right. While he's made a great living, he's not nearly at the wealth level as an NFL owner. In order to buy a team, one needs to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars. You need to be closing in on billionaire status.

I think he retires from the game completely and keeps raking in money from investments and such. He is a great QB but and even greater brand.

I watched Peyton at Tennessee hoping he would be our next QB & was very happy our Colts took him with there first pick in 98 .

As a Colt he thrilled & wowed me & I was foolish enough to believe Irsay when he said he wanted to keep 18 & draft luck too so when he was cut I was very upset it still bothers me although now I do understand it just would not have worked out I get that '

 

What really * me off was all the supposed Colts fans who jumped ship & became Bronco fans, yeah I too like Peyton but I can't stand Elway & the Broncos so I don't watch him in that ugly orange uni call me a hater I'm comfortable with that .

 

The cult of personality I understand the mass exodus  I do not .  I look back at 18's Colt career it made the Indy Colts relevant & Superbowl Champs lots of good memories .
